Does your pup like water? Or are baths, sprinklers, pools, or oceans a no-go for your little one?

If I didn't know any better, I'd say Bisou was a retriever or something with how much she loves water. Shasta is the exact opposite and almost won't go potty if the grass is wet... what a princess! Bisou, on the other hand... if water is an option, we can't get her away from it!

She loves the garden hose and sprinkler, she loves swimming at the beach (she has a life vest now so we don't have to hold her up by her harness all the time!), she loves baths and even hops in the shower with Joel, and discovered this past week that she loves the rain and splashes in puddles and tries to eat rain drops as they land.

What about you guys? Do I have an anomaly here or is a French Bulldog that loves water pretty common? I'd love to see your stories and photos of Frenchies and water!

Nope... not even a little bit. Runs when he sees the hose or pool come out - he even hates the rain

Jake likes to play in the hose, but is not interested in our pool or the ocean. Stella does not like water at all. They are both good about getting baths though. Cute pics!!!

The Frenchie I am getting loves water. I don't know about lakes, etc but she loves little pools, and splashing in her water dish.

Maple doesnt care much for rainy days but she loves the ocean and lakes. She also has her own little pool that she enjoys during the summer months :)

Hudson LOVES water. He loves having a little pool and is obsessed with the sprinklers. His new favorite activity, however, is surprise bursting into the shower with me any chance he gets. It is a mixture of horrifying and terrifying. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1418967818.170441.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1418967830.053002.jpg

Wally doesn't care for rain but he LOVES to swim! He can't swim for too long or else he starts to sink but he does love it.

Wyatt hates water from the hose and the bathtub. Not sure how the new puppy will like water.

Jax absolutely loves to play with the water hose but that's about it. I have a little plastic pool for him on hot days and he won't go in. He doesn't enjoy when I give him a bath but he doesn't try to escape. He does hate when I give him paw soaks in the kitchen sink. He doesn't really mind the rain.

Gidget and Olivia don't enjoy going out in the rain. Wilson pretty much doesn't care.

Gidget hates a bath, but will tolerate it. Olivia and Wilson seem to enjoy a bath and especially the blow dryer after - which is kind of surprising based on their reactions to vacuum cleaners but on the other hand they are all in the bathroom in the mornings when I am drying my hair and have been since they were puppies so I guess they are accustomed to it.

We put Gidget in a river with a life vest one time. She made a beeline for the bank and had no interest in getting back in. All of them will go in a creek.

Buster loves getting in lakes, rivers and creeks, and his little pool but he HATES taking a bath!

This is SO Bisou! She hasn't quite figured out how to get past the shower curtains, but if they're open just a little bit and the bathroom door isn't shut, in she goes! Hearing the giggles coming out of the bathroom when they shower together is so much fun. :]

I love hearing all the stories from everyone!! All the dogs my family has owned absolutely hated anything water related so this is a new experience for me and I'm really enjoying it. All these photos are making me giggle at work! :D

Isabelle constantly sits by the tub begging to get in to play. And loves to play with the faucet in the tub, and when I try to rinse her with the handheld shower head, she tries to hop and play.

No pool/water outside yet for her, but I'm sure I'll update next summer.

Leo and Molly hate all water! LOL. NoT sure about Bitty, but Benjamin LOVES his kiddie pool!

Our dog Petey loves the water!! We have an in-ground pool and he loves to swim (w/his life-vest of course). He's like a little kid that swims all day, wears down his energy and then sleeps well that night. He also loves his baths...to him its a whole body massage when mom bathes him! this dog is a definite "water dog"!! and he's not even Portuguese..., he's Hungarian :) IMG_2150.jpg

How old is Jax? He looks to be about half the size of my Frenchie. Mine's about 35 pounds. I don't think she would fit in sink for betadine foot soaks. Mine hates the rain, but I don't know if she likes swimming as I haven't taken her.

Jax turned 4 in April and weighs about 30 pounds. He can do paw soaks in the sink but bathtub for baths.

Did the betadine soaks cure Jax from licking his feet? Is he also on Cytopoint or Apoquel now? If he needs those then the betadine soaks weren't a cure. Honey stopped licking her paws while she was on Clavulin but resumed after, although not as much now that she's on a new dog food ( EasyRaw Turkey dehydrated raw )

I did the soaks whenever his paws got red. I can say I haven't done a soak in a very, very long time. He was on Apoquel, still licked paws and scratched but nothing like before he was on it. Friday was week 2 of the Cytopoint. He licks his paws here and there but it's been much, much less. Barely any scratching. He is allergic to grass, trees, weeds and shrubs so I don't think there will ever be a "cure" for him, more like maintenance.
