Dog show debut

Toffee's dog show debut was this weekend, it was two days with six rings. It was a clean sweep as he was the lone entry in the Baby Puppy Class. The true competition came in the Best Baby Puppy in Group, shown above. That little Pug behind him just swept this on the first day, Saturday.

We gave him a run for his money on Sunday as two Judges favored both of them but ultimately the Pug would win. It was just nice he was given a chance, gave the Pug's handler a bit of a scare with the third Judge. Win or lose, we're so proud of our boy, who at just 4 months took to the ring with minimal training and performed like a pro.

@psbone Cool, good practice, and he looks great. Your handler had him stacked nicely, just get him to turn his front paws in, so they are pointing straight ahead. His top line is coming in and looking nice. Good luck at the next show.

Thank you for the assessment, I think we can nail that stacking with more training and practice. He showed great improvement in is his focus on the second day, not too distracted anymore, and can concentrate better.

Thank you everyone! For a 4 month old's first foray into the show ring he was a trooper and took everything in stride. Very proud of him.

[MENTION=4]davidh[/MENTION], fascinating what you see. I have often wondered how judges "see" especially when judging best of show. At the bigger shows (Westminster), they have to know the breed standard for almost every breed, and they are all the best of the best.

We finished our second show last weekend, they were three in the Ring and we placed 2nd and 3rd respectively in two rings. Toffee did well and I'm still as proud of him as ever. After a brief break, we'll start training for the upcoming Circuit Show in January where it will be open to international entries.

Till then, I and Toffee want to thank everyone for all your support in our show endeavors.
