Dogs got into 24 pound bag of food! HUGE BELLYS

I bought a new bag of food on Wednesday night and I put the bag on teh floor of the garage. I had to take the kiddo to get her oil changed and I neglected to put the food in the plastic canister I have. Well when I got home about a third of the bag of food was gone! All four dogs ATE and ATE and ATE. Batty and Ollie were HUGE. I rushed batty to the vet and they took xrays and determined just filled with food. She said to watch him all day. I did and of course both frenchies vomited up any water they drank and both had the runs all night long. I was up most of the night. I'm wondering how many others may have experienced this? How long should I expect them to stay sick? I'm gonna call the vet this morning too to ask that question. Both are feeling better this morning Bellies are much smaller and they are playing at my feet so i know they feel better. I'm expecting the runs to last a while. They didn't get dinner and no breakfast. I'm gonna probably try dinner tonight, maybe about half their normal amount. What a MESS! I will never leave the food bag out again. ARG!

The stinkers just don't get the concept of being full and quit eating when there is still food. I wonder if they would quit eating if they were the only dog there. Glad they will be okay!

Been there. Done that. Wilson's stomach was so big that the vet said if she didn't know the circumstances she would have thought she was looking at a 12-yr old dog and a tumor.
