Took Isabelle out to the Metroparks today, and walked her.

She did good, chewed a cigarette butt, when smoking isn't even allowed there [emoji19] but walked mostly next to me, behaving herself.

We even passed a dog calmly, with just some "aww I can't go play?" looks towards the other dog, but no pulling.

I think it went well!

Anyone else have fun walk experiences to share?
Tips on being the "leader"?
Cute pics?

So glad you guys had a great walk Make sure Isa does not touch - chew cig butts they are very toxic to dogs, no puIIing and walk beside you the perfect walk

She picked it up, I immediately noticed, and told her no.

She didn't even really try to grab at the leaves or acorns after that!

I was surprised at how little she pulled. Only a few moments here and there of tugging.

Isabelle is such a good girl. I hate it when people litter with their cigarette butts, they are worse than candy wrappers!

My grandfather passed from lung cancer, he was a smoker, so I despise them.

I swear if my dog got hurt from picking up a cigarette butt I would take it to a local police station, and sue them for the vet bills.

Gah, people are so stupid...

The metroparks is supposed to be relaxing, and there is no smoking allowed. It really makes me upset!

I'll definitely have to update pics of when my sister in law gets home with her chihuahua! We're going to take them for walks together!

This is how Jake rolled before he had all his shots:)

I'm glad she behaved!

Wally is crazy on walks despite much training. He's a work in progress but I refuse to give up!

Let us know how she progresses. Radar was great initially and then at roughly 7 months would stop inexplicably. I think he is waiting for someone to come by to play with or gush over him. He's 11 months now and it's a tad better but my walks take forever.

That's strange. Isa will be 7 months the 3rd, and this was only her first walk, so here's hoping she doesn't stall out on me so soon! Haha!

Sounds like she did great and picked it up fast. Smart little girl you have there.

I'm hoping!

I was surprised!

I want to get her used to the "pack walk" with my SIL & her chihuahua puppy, because she needs help training her, and I know that's usually a major help! :)

I'll keep everyone updated on how that goes with helping Behavior wise at home!
