Oh my goodness.... he is PRECIOUS, but definitely a mix breed as bulldog of any type do not have long hair/fur.

That's what I figured, but they're claiming it's a full breed frenchie!

He is a cutie, but definitely NOT a pure bred Frenchie, as they do not have long hair. It's another "designer" dog for some unfortunate buyer who do not do their home work to pay too much money for, and the unethical breeders to make a bunch of money breeding this stuff, and trying to ruin the breed. Same as the "blue" breeders.

Actually that pup is not the only one I've seen on instagram. There is an adult "frenchie" Instagram Account: dougiethefrenchie Ppl are claiming that its 100% frenchie but it seems weird too me, the same way, the blues, merles, black and tans look to me. Breeders are definitely experimenting, and creating all kinds of Frenchies for Money Purposes.

I recently got a Frenchie and stuck to the recognized Fawn! I feels thats the way to go. I must agree that some of the other colors are cute, but hairy frenchies? That just seems weird.

One of the many things I like about Frenchies is they don't shed much; this hairy, little guy would shed!

His litter mates were normal frenchies, I think he is a full blooded frenchie. He's only 9 weeks old and I'm sure he will lose the fluffy as he gets older.

I know of 3 long haired French Bulldogs - a lot of people think they are cross breeds when in actual fact they are not.

The long hair is caused by a recessive gene - it's a very rare thing to happen.

A short haired French Bulldog can be a carrier so if 2 carriers are used for breeding there is a high chance of one puppy having longer hair.

If one dog has 2 copies of the recessive gene it will be passed to their offsprings.

It's hard to get your head around but they are full French Bulldogs.

I think a lady who owns a long haired Frenchie on another group has had hers health and DNA tested because 100's of people were telling her he was a cross and there's no way on this planet that he is 100% French Bulldog.

It is quite interesting to read up on :)

Hmmm; looks like frenchie-pom to me.

It is possible that Fozzy had a different father than the rest of the litter, maybe a little Pom?

BamaGroomer, there is no way he is full blood Frenchie, as there is no long hair in the Frenchie line anywhere. Someone mixed something in to get the long hair.

Your right they are not suppose to have long hair, and any other dog I would agree with you. But not with this one! As you know that most frenchies have to be artificially inseminated, so not likely a Pom jumped the fence. Just saying....

He looks like a frenchie Pom. I actually commented on Fozzy's IG and asked lol!

I'd assume there is SOME type of gene that could cause this, but I'm not very well educated on that, so I'll just go with Fozzy is ADORABLE, mix or not.
