Our frenchie Boo is about 4.5 months old and we absolutely love her. After being on this forum a little while I see many of you with two or even more frenchies and I think of how great that would be (although much work) to have a brother or sister for Boo. It may happen as the years go by but for now I'm not sure we could swing it.

I actually use Boo as my service dog due to Crohn's disease (she is able to "come" and I keep medicine locked away in her vest for when I'm not able to be mobile due to pain). She has been a little life saver.

The apartment my fiancé and I live in must allow service dogs but not any others so this decision would come later when we live in a larger or more pet friendly place.

My question to those with multiple frenchies is how do you like it? Besides knowing you love it what are the pros and cons of such a combo? Thanks I have come to just love this breed and their little quirks.

We have just placed a deposit on out second frenchie and are dieing to get him. I've not had two frenchies but have had two dogs at a time and I feel that after you have bonded with the first then bringing another is great! They play together and if you have to leave the house they keep each other company, we if course have had the doggy arguments over food or toys that must be broken up like two kids fighting but they get over it and move on. You just have to be ready for twice the damage, twice the food costs, twice the vet bills and twice the love.

Two is fun to watch play and keep each other company. But as Zeta's mom mentioned, it is twice the food costs, vet bills and so on. If your Boo is mellow, you should be fine with another. I like to get opposite sexes just to be sure though. She is so sweet and I'm so glad that you found such a helpful little companion:)

Everyone needs more than one, and they are no more work really. They go out together and also have a play mate. At the moment we have 4 Frenchies and two 17 week old Frenchies. Loads of fun around our house. Plus 3 English. :)

As said in the quote above getting opposite genders is the best option to avoid fights as they tend to argue a bit less. And make sure they are fixed unless you plan on breeding high quality dogs and are prepared for the emense vet bills associated with breeding the breed

I don't have 2 Frenchies but I have 2 dogs that are very similar in how they play, which is very rough. Not all dogs can handle the enthusiasm of a Frenchie so it's a great idea to get another one. Perhaps check out the dogs that are up for adoption on this site.

That makes an interesting point. I grew up with two female dogs (Rottweiler & boxer) and they seemed to get along just fine so I have no experience with two dogs of the opposite sex. No plans for breeding. My current frenchie will be spayed soon and any other dog in the future would be fixed as well.

I think two is a great idea. It seems that they really enjoy one another's company. Plus...it's double the cuteness. :)

We decided that if we ever got another Frenchie it would definitely be a boy!

Which we will get another one, but it's get a FRENCHIE or keep remodeling our house... Clearly we want the frenchie more ;-P is that bad? [emoji23]

Frenchies are like potato chips, you're never satisfied with just one.

I can't wait to get another Frenchie. As soon as I graduate from college I will be getting Hudson a brother. They are addicting little creatures!
