Halloween Costumes - 2014

I've been looking at Halloween costumes for the past 5 months and am having no luck stealing an idea from someone else or coming up with my own. Unfortunately I'm stuck on a realistic idea, if that is even possible, as we're talking about dressing up a dog. Does anyone else have any idea as to what they're dressing your pack (member) up as this year? Below is Q playing dress up in a portion of her costume. Unfortunately the Medium is too small and the large is too big. I kept the large and will have a seamtress make it smaller as we get closer to the holiday. I have a list of 5 dog friendly events and Halloween costume contests planned and I even took Oct 24th off of work to ensure I make it in time to the Friday evening events.

The only thing I can come up with is a hamburger. It's in my local chain pet store. I have two charity events for him to dress up for.... But I feel like there's gonna be so many hamburgers there. I wish I was more creative... And wish I knew a specialty dog costume retailer. If anyone knows some good dog costume websites - inbox me!

Ok, now I can see the picture. How cute!! I have kids to make costumes for so I don't usually dress the dogs up. I used to before the kiddo came along though. One of my favorite was a piñata costume I made. I sewed a regular dog jacket and cut and glued streamer paper onto it. I cut little slits all over the paper first to make it look like a pinana. Then on one spot I left blank and glued candy all in there so it looked like a busted piñata. Everyone loved it and we won first place in a local costume contest. In the same contest I sewed my Pekingese a witch dress and hat. She was adorable too. (I am biased)

Now that my boys are teenagers and I can't dress them up anymore, I always dress my dogs! Found these adorable costumes at Target this weekend and they were only $6.99 each. I just couldn't help myself, lol

If I get my act together, we're going as Bride of Frankenstein.

Amazon actually has some pretty freaking cute dog costumes. There's a giant Hello Kitty head that I'm eyeballing just to have around the house. You know, 'cause you never know when you're going to need a Hello Kitty head for your dog, amirite?

I think I'm going to be a cop, and Isabelle will be a little prisoner.

Try etsy. I saw so many I was screeching with cuteness overload.

That's super cute as well. I was thinking of Q as a lion and I'd be a lion tamer or a zookeeper. Most of the contests here in the valley aren't owner/dog related, so I pretty much need to wow them with Q alone. Or better yet, I should stop being so worried about it and 'just have fun'. Etsy and Pinterest have tons of wonderful ideas as well. No joke, I spend 30-60 mins a day searching, viewing and contemplating.

Here's Hudson in the unicorn costume my mom picked up last weekend while visiting. He probably won't dress up for Halloween but man do we get a kick out of it.

I assume that by "we" get a kick out of it, you don't mean Hudson. Although he *does* look pretty darn adorbs. Maybe he does enjoy it.

I dress my dogs up for photo ops only but I'm too cheap to buy a full costume. They probably don't care much for it but it only lasts about 10 seconds and they get a cookie for their troubles.

I plan on Quella wearing it for Flag, Memorial, Labour, Etc... I bought the costume at Petco if you have those in Beaver Town. :lmao:
