We are historically Boston Terrior owners but have been interested in French Bulldogs for quite some time. Have been slowing researching and preparing ourselves. We were approached about a week and a half ago regarding a 5 year old boy whom a friend of mine knew needed a new home since his mom was moving. Not sure of the entire reasoning but we jumped at it. He is a super loving boys and hasn't met a person or creature he doesn't like. He is a big ole boy and clearly backyard bred. 't was seemingly very loved but not taken care of to my standards (which admittedly can be very high). His nails were insanely long and curling under his toes, his bathing and brushing was severely lacking, and his food was very hit or miss as far as nutrition. He was in need of an updated rabies but was "fully vetted"...until I saw his boy parts. (Not fully vetted in my opinion.)
So....his nails are now whittled down, he is clean, ears are cleaned, and food change is still in progress. He is shedding like crazy but I am hoping that the more frequent grooming and brushing and food change will aid that. He is scheduled for a neuter on Monday and is getting lots of love from our family!
We are still interested in pursuing a responsibly bred Frenchie puppy but are super happy and blessed with our poorly bred boy.
Nice to meet you all!
