We brought Bonus to an indoor dog park today and she has a really good time there.
But we found she has something bulge on her belly.... She looks good , eat well and poop well...

Is this hernia?
We are going to take her to vet this Thursday for the rabies shot , so definitely should have vet check this thing.

She is now 4 months and weigh 12 lb...
We know nothing about hernia and I am really worried now... please share any experience

Sorry, I can't answer your question.
But if its still there on Thursday, definitely make the vet aware of it,as he is not allowed to vaccinate an animal that is not 100% heatlhy.

We were so worried so we took her to the vet this morning.
Yes, it is a hernia but not too big and she looks perfect.
Vet gave her the rabies shot and asked us to keep eyes on her hernia.
If it doesn't get bigger, they will fix it together with her spay, which will be around May or June

I'm glad it's not more serious. I hope she won't be in any kind of pain with the hernia. Poor little thing.

Thank you!
She doesn't feel pain when Vet push around the hernia.
And we are told that it is possible this thing will go away by the age of 6 months. So that she doesn't need a repair surgery.

Glad to hear its nothing serious! Hopefully it goes away on its own

Good to hear it is nothing serious. Hope it goes away without the need for surgery.

Good vet report. Frequently things look worse to us and don't even bother the dog, like cherry eye!

Definitely a hernia. Our puppy has a umbilical hernia that will be fixed when she is spayed. I have posted a pic for reference. Reese's hernia is nothing to worry about at this point but we do keep eye on it (it is decent size).IMG_0604.jpg

Hope Reese's hernia will go away ! How old is little Reese? When are you going to plan her on spay

Right now the vet is not concerned as it is an uncomplicated hernia. She is growing leaps and bounds. She would like to fix it at same time as spay d/t having to put her under multiple times she is 5 months now. We are looking to spay around 6 mos to try and avoid any problems with the hernia in the future.

I'm sorry I didn't see this post sooner, yes it is a very small hernia and they usually continue to get smaller as they grow. It doesn't hurt them, it is just where the umbillical cord comes off sometimes it doesn't heal over right. I also think it is from the cords not being tied off tight enough, but that is bc the couple I have seen in both cases they were tied off way too loose.

Thanks!
I think it might because Bonus played and ran too hard. And her cord came off.....
There was a small yorkie running very fast in the park, and Bonus was chasing her round . With her short legs, she tried to run as fast as she could....

Our girl developed a hernia after her spay. By the time we got her to the vet it had repaired itself and never came back (it's been over a year).

Glad the vet doesn't think it will be a serious problem!

Thank you!
We measure her hernia everyday and we found it is actually becoming smaller!
We hope she will be lucky to have the hernia repaired itself!~
