Hi all,
So my Nellie just started the weirdest behaviour today. She has been perfectly fine with being left alone and today i noticed after i left for work. (FYI i have a webcam at the house that my BF bought so that we can watch her while away) that she was barking an whining all day. She was pacing up and down in her pen and doing the same when she goes into her crate. She'd climb up the crate walls and do this howling whining sound and then barks too. The sitter came by to spend time with her from 12-2pm and she played and seemed fine but as soon as she left, she started doing the same thing again. i will try and post a recording if i manage to get one on my phone. What do i do if its separation anxiety? She has all her toys and i leave treats for her too.
Just an FYI that she is not crate trained or house trained (i.e. she goes into her crate just fine but is never locked in there. However, she is sectioned off by a pen to a part of the living room with pee pads. She is 4 months old now. I'm hoping this is just a one time thing. but its odd that she would bark and howl most of the day. She is going to daycare tomorrow so maybe that'll help. Any tips will be appreciated. I think i should really stop being a wimp and just crate train her. it'll make both of lives easier i think. But with this happen can i still lock her in her crate?
