Thinking about Chiana as she waits for her puppies to whelp and wondering how many will be in the litter. Does everyone knows how many littermates were in their frenchie's litter? I don't know how many littermates Bambi had because we got her as an adult. She had three litters herself, though, and the breeder sent me pics of one of the litters. She had three puppies - adorable. :havemyheart: They were mainly fawn with white spots. I have heard the average is three puppies. I watched a youtube video of a frenchie C-section and the vet delivered nine puppies!!! They just kept coming and coming. That poor dog had to be huge!

davidh. Will have some insights

Buster's mother is an OEB, dad is a Frenchie. There were 7 in his litter, 6 boys, 1 girl. She was the biggest and the alpha!

I don't know how many were in my babies litter but she had 3 c sections. The first was 3 pups, then 2 , then 1.

Mo's mom had a litter of whopping 10 puppies when we got Mo! one did not make it, but 9 are living happily in their homes.
She was then a first timer. Second litter was 3 girls. So it sure can vary.

It is incredibly exciting to think that Mo's brother might already be in the oven! :happydance:

Ooh, fun thread. There were 7 puppies in Junior's litter: three boys and four girls. All of them made it. Our breeder had first-pick male, and she picked a blue brindle. That left us with a choice between a blue pied and a black pied. By pictures alone, we thought we would prefer the black pied. But when we met them both, the blue pied was the one for us. He was a calm, less dominant, no-fear kind of boy at five weeks, and that is very much his personality to this day.

Wally's litter had 3 puppies, 2 males and one female. Wally was the first born, and the biggest.

Isabelle's litter had 4. 2 boys, 2 girls, each a set of twins (1 brindle girl 1 brindle boy, 1 pied girl - Isabelle, 1 pied boy).

Mom was 5, and that was her 4th or 5th litter from what I understood.

I could've stayed at the breeders house all day playing with those 3 cuties (brindle girl had been purchased already).

Hudson's had three. Two boys and a girl. Both had been spoken for by the time we got to them but we liked him the most anyway! Funny how that works out :)

What does an OEB and Frenchie cross look like? Are they big? Do their ears stand?

Duh, sorry - I guess the picture of Buster in your avatar is what one looks like! I didn't realize Buster was a cross until you said.

He has a longer body and longer legs, but Frenchie traits are dominant--the whole litter have Frenchie bat ears!

Jake's was a litter of three. Two boys, one girl. The girl was a brindle and the boy was a pied. I got first choice and fell in love with Jake when I saw him.
Stella also came from a litter of three. Two girls and one boy. Jake and Stella have the same daddy.

Wow, that is quite a variation of color in the same litter!

Usually they have 3 to 6 on average, but as they get older they usually have less. Hazel only had 2 her last two litters, and so did Hilary.

My little girl was one of five in her litter: 4 girls and a boy. The little boy died after an unsuccessful surgery to correct an esophageal problem :*( But all the girls are healthy!
