How much Pumpkin after a great escape?

About last night. Danté escaped his playpen... Literally, unlatched the swinging door and escaped. Also hurdled a gate separating the living room and the kitchen... Long story short he got into the garbage and cleaned up about four pork ribs. Also ate the side of greens. Might have also eaten some leave-in conditioner. I'd post the video of the carnage but there is unfortunately some foul language in the background. He was playing and energetic when I discovered him mid-escapade. But his tummy was quite huge. This morning he was lethargic & I could tell feeling the ill-effects of his midnight feast. Vet said to keep an eye on him. We skipped breakfast and I fed him late afternoon. Gave him 2 TBSP of pumpkin and half a cup of kibble. Think that's enough pumpkin? Poo is solid-ish... Softer than usual and has lots of greens in it. He has an appetite and is naughtier than ever now that he's had a taste of freedom. A taste of freedom and baby back ribs.

I think this might be a case where I'm laughing at you, not with you. And I do apologize ... but seriously? Leave-in conditioner? Bahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! I'm picturing him in front of the mirror in a white disco suit, a la John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever, prettying himself up for his lady friends...

I would say if he seems back to normal his eating and stools you could stop the pumpkin.

Usually a spoonful is enough. If his poop is good, then you don't need the pumpkin, unless you just want to give it to him, it certainly isn't going to hurt anything. Glad he didn't get into something poisonous.

Hahahahahaha [MENTION=648]lkclark[/MENTION] [MENTION=380]KimB3384[/MENTION] -- the leave-in was it's a 10! Keratin infused leave-in ... Which was not in the trash. It was in my "Hair Products Bin" which I keep on the floor of my bathroom. He had his way in there also. I'm happy to report his tummy is feeling better now.

He was just living up to his name ... I mean, that does sound like a Divine Comedy, eh? Eh? Too soon? Glad he's better, but more importantly - how does his hair look?

I will figure out a way to edit the sound. His fur is extra soft. He managed to escape again last night even after I barricaded his door. Yes, I can get a good laugh out of it -- but only because he hasn't managed to hurt himself during his escapades.. YET. I don't want to confine him to the crate while I'm at work. I want him to have room to play in his ex-pen. I am formulating another plan to try to keep him from escaping. Wish me luck.

Good luck with that.... Wilson got over, around, knocked down everything we put up to blockade the laundry room, which is where we keep the extra food (and litter boxes). He got in there one night and ate, and ate, and ate, and ate. He looked like the Hindenburg (I have another post about this). Anyway, trip to vet, x-rays, the whole 9 yards. Vet said if she had seen just the film and didn't know the background she would have said 12-yr old dog and a tumor. They still show it to people... We now have tubs on wheels for all of the food. He's *almost* too big to get through the cat door anymore. Don't feel bad, my video would have had language as well!!!
