I'm not breeding I'm just waiting on a few litters and don't want to harass the breeders any more!

It depends on the dominant and recessive genes in each of the parents. I've done a little drawing to try to explain the mixing possibilities. In capital letter we have the dominant gene ("C" for cream color of the coat) and in lowercase letter the recessive gene ("b" for the black color of the coat). The black gene "b" being recessive it doesn't show in any of the parents but it's still there, in the DNA. When breeding, the pups can get any combination of the parents genes: both dominant genes=cream puppy, one dominant and one recessive=cream puppy, or both recessive=black puppy.
So i guess the answer is that there is a possibility to have cream pups from cream parents, depending on the cream gene being Dominant or recessive and of course mother nature mixing them in just the right way
