Are you dictated to by your little four legged family member/s??
We are ashamed to admit that yes we are guilty.
Our little male Charlie at 9 months old goes into their toy bin and brings out his favorite toy which is a
fuzzy "shark". He brings it to wherever I am, drops it and barks. This means "I want to play".
He doesn't care if I'm comfortable in my errr,, I mean his recliner.
I have to get down on the floor with him and play.
So I do.
In the morning, he comes over to my side of the bed and cries and barks because he wants me to get up.
So I do.
He likes to cuddle and sleep between my wife's legs on the couch. She'll have a blanket and he just jumps up and stands there waiting for her to make room for him.
So she does.
He also likes to sleep between my legs on his recliner and fusses for me to let him be there.
So I do.
When (often) we let them out in the backyard, they all three come in and sit by the kitchen counter where the treats are.
They are waiting for us to give them a treat.
So we do.
Our little girl Sofi, comes to my wife's side of the bed early in the morning and wants my wife to bring her up.
So she does.
Sami, our little pug is the least demanding (not at all)
They do get their own ice cream (vanilla) every night.

I just realized that we are not in control of our lives!!!!
It's ok, our lives are much better/richer because of them.
We love them so much.
We wouldn't have it any other way.

Never a truer word spoken. They are so easy to love.

Jax is definitely the boss.

We're trying really hard to let our puppy Ripley know she's not the boss of us, but it is so hard with that adorable little mug. She definitely gets away with murder a lot of the time, but what can ya do?

Our 12 year old Kora is so good and patient, she never really has ruled the roost. She's content just to live and let live, every now and then she'll let you know she'd like a bite of what you're eating, but if she doesn't get it she doesn't bark or jump up, and will eventually just go back to her bed. Until we got the puppy, Kora mostly slept in her bed (under her own blanket, I'll admit) unless it was particularly cold or she wasn't feeling well. We tried teaching Ripley to sleep in a dog bed, but ever since she was old enough to jump up onto our bed, she just makes herself comfortable there with us, and no amount of putting her back down will work, she'll just get right back up! :facepalm2: If we try closing her behind the baby gate in another room she whines and barks and makes a ruckus until we come rescue her. So now of course to not make Kora feel left out, they both sleep in the bed!

But we do draw a line, and we often make Ripley work for what she wants (she has to sit nicely before she can get on the couch with us, etc.) and slowly but surely she's learning to follow the rules. But there are so many things we have to teach her (like "No Ripley, you may not eat a cactus") that Kora just never needed to learn because she never got into trouble, so we're choosing our battles!

Oh these frenchies!!

YES!!!!! I have gladly and willingly surrendered complete control of my household to her!!! LOLOL

As much as I try to be the tough boss I know I am not, and I have learned to be OK with that. :D
