Hi and welcome. He is adorable. Hopefully he will calm down once he is a year or two. He's still young and full of energy!

He is so adorable. :welcome:
He is in that teen phase, so he will still be a little mischievious and full of energy but should start to slow down soon. He will just want to be near you and cuddle in no time!

Welcome Jeff!

Jabba is a handsome pup!

Like said above he's in that age bracket where that's just how he is haha!

I hope you enjoy the forum!

some never calm down :)

:welcome3: to FBN

What a handsome man! My fiance works from home and has said the same thing... she's so distracting that some days all he gets done is finding new ways to entertain her. It's so cute! Bisou is almost 11 months old now, and since she was about 9 months she's gotten a lot calmer. You can rile her up easily, but she's starting to love snuggles more than anything. What's worked for us is not giving in every time they want to play so that they don't become too demanding. Our other dog, a shepherd mix, becomes so pushy if you don't pay attention to her and will actually PUNCH you to get you to pay attention! It's super funny but can be painful sometimes. If you only play when you have the time and not every time he asks, he'll realize that if he asks to play a couple times and doesn't get a response, it's just snuggle time right now and you'll play with him soon :]

He is a handsome boy for sure. He will settle down in about 2 to 3 years. :). When he gets too crazy, give him a time out in his crate for a little nap.

Hello! Welcome. The answer to settling down? LOL never? No, my boy is 2 1/2 and he's very good until we have company, then he acts like a total spaz. He's also a public spaz. He pulls like he thinks he's a sled dog when he sees people. He's never seen a person he hasn't wanted to love. Jabba is a cute little dude. When he settles down you'll miss it.

I have actually tried just not playing everytime he engages play. I'm in Michigan and he hates the cold, so we have been taking trips to Petsmart to walk some laps. He is good in store and excellent in car only time he gets over hyper is at home. He is being fixed on Thursday cause has started marking. One thing I forgot to mention in first message is I had spinal surgery 3 weeks ago, so I'm not at 100% yet. They used scopes, but no bending, twisting or lifting more then 15lbs. He jumps into car, so don't have to lift him. I have thought about taking him to a diggie daycare few days a week till I can move better. I don't want to, but worried he is bored lol.

Great pics. Stay one step ahead of him. Mine enjoys a .one mile walk. Then is zonked out for a few hours.

OMG the sled dog example is so perfect! That's exactly what Hudson does!

Literally so accurate. On slippery flooring & they don't go anywhere as you hold them back is the funniest!

Hee, hee; cute thread! Welcome Jeff. Sounds like your little guy is more like Jabba the Jedi than Jabba the Hut. :D I agree with not giving in to him when he wants to play incessantly. I would give him some toys and do your best to redirect and/or ignore him when he becomes pesky (hard to do because they are so stinkin' cute!!!). You establish play time, not him.

I hope your surgery was a success.
