fionas nails *seem* too long.

we just got her to a groomer to get them properly trimmed and they said they couldn't really do much at all since they basically would have to cut into the quick to shorten them.

when she walks around, you can definitely hear them on our wooden floors. should we not be able to hear them at all? we have our own trimmer but there just doesnt seem to be any nail to trim without breaking into the quick. hows everyone elses frenchies nails?

They do look a bit long. How about grinding them instead of cutting? If you grind just a tad each week or so, the quick should start going down. Petsmart and Petco do grinding.

We use a dremel. Jake's nails are mostly black so it is hard to see where the quick is. You could grind a little bit per week and they will get shorter little by little.

I would Dremel them, but only the top part that is white, not the pink, if you do them a little each week they will eventually shorten up.

^^^ agreed. Cheli's nails grow so fast, I have started taking him to get them trimmed every two weeks to keep them under control

They are pretty close to the quick. You could however do as David said and grind down the tips a bit. Don't get anywhere near the pink.

sounds good. thanks everyone. i might pick up a furminator grinder which should do the trick. saves us from going to a groomer too.
