Hello Everyone,

I am a new frenchie owner. he is 15 weeks now! He is a handful, but very excited to have him.

I need some advice on his ears. His ears have always been erect until recently. About two weeks ago one of his ears would start drooping later in the evening and we just thought it was do to being tired and in the last week or so, his ear is just floppy now. I've noticed that when he is alerted it somewhat goes up, but not all the way.

Is this normal? So I be alarmed that his ear will stay that way?

Thank you in advance.

Daniel

Welcome!! Sometimes it could take a bit for the ears to go up. I have heard of people giving yogurt for calcium or it could be teething. I am sure there are other threads talking about this issue if you do a search.

This little butthead use to do the same thing. Look at him now. Don’t fret about it.

Hi and welcome! I believe yogurt would be very helpful. We have a dobie mix and I used to be active on a dobie forum. People who would have the ears cropped would say the same thing and yogurt (calcium) was always suggested to make them stand.

My Frenchies ears used to droop from time to time when they were puppies. Eventually they stood up for good. I wouldn’t worry about it; although when it was happening, I was nervous. Congratulations on your new family member.

It's usually from teething, they will go back up after he is done. A little plain yogurt will help and also a little goats milk every day helps too.
