Jax's warts are finally gone and he got a clean bill of health from the vet last night which means he will get to go to daycare next week and will finally be able to socialize again. He has been quarantined since May! Plus, tomorrow we are going to our very first Frenchie meet up and I can't wait! I will be bringing my camera to take lots of pictures. :dance6:

What are warts and how do they get them?

It's a contagious virus. He had one giant wart on the outside of his mouth, clusters of them on the inside of his cheeks and some on his lips. Thankfully they did not bother him. The virus is transmitted through direct AND non-direct contact which means it could be transferred by a dog licking an infected dog or just licking an area or toy that an infected dog came in contact with. From what I have read and been told by vets, it is more common in younger pups and older dogs as their immune system is weaker. And apparently, once a dog gets the warts, it is highly unlikely they would get them again. Fortunately, they do go away on their own but it can take a few months. Jax got quarantined in May and is just now able to be around other dogs. His immune system finally was strong enough to fight off the virus.

Hooray for Jax! He will enjoy the meet-up and getting back to his friends at day care!

Cool, so happy for him, have a great time tomorrow and we will be waiting on the pics. :2thumbs:

I bet he was happy to get out and socialize again :)
