I know this is probably a stupid question, but is there any way to remove cherry eye without heavy anesthesia? Ellie has a small, but recurring one that has now decided to stay and is going to have to be tacked :(.Our animal hospital claims that they see a lot of Frenchies, but they're very old fashioned, and I truthfully don't trust them as much as I used to (my vet that I used to use who specialized in anesthesia protocol passed away - her colleagues don't seem very with it, lol). They're very nice but I don't trust just any vet with my baby girl!

Am I worrying too much?

No you are not worrying too much. I would go with your gut. If you do not feel comfortable, find another vet. There is a specific anesthesia protocol vets need to follow for brachy breed dogs. I think I insulted my vet I had been using for 20 years when I questioned him about his experience with Frenchies and the protocol he used. Here is a link to the protocol FBRN recommends vets follow fyi. French Bulldog Rescue Network :: FBRN Anesthesia Policy

Good advice--go with the gut! I po'd a vet bad once when I questioned his lack of experience on eye surgery on my English Bulldog!

Has anyone ever had experience with Dr. Kinnear at Richmond Valley in NY? It's far but he seems great, and he's a bully owner. :)

My vet is one of the vets who wrote up the anesthesia protocol for frenchies! I'm so glad that I have her in my life, but before we found her, I printed off the protocol and had my other vet sign papers before surgery saying that I gave them specific surgery instructions, and I agreed to THAT specific plan. Everything went fine. It was for her spay, and then a second surgery for cherry eye about a month later.

I would print off a copy and discuss it with whichever surgeon you choose. If they don't go over it with you, and seem happy to discuss it with you, find a new surgeon.
