So, our project for adding a second has actually started!
Moses has well recovered from his ear infection and now we just continue 2 weeks for supporting meds to make sure all is gone before the follow up visit with the vet.

I have done my research and selected a breeder and made initial contact. The female that we were interested in has had a male visiting last week and same with the other fantastic looking female. They were not yet sure if they were successful and they also let us know that they have had soooo many enquiries for any coming litters. I tried my best to make a good pitch, so lets see how it goes. I'm so fond of those two females that I will see this through first before making other enquiries!
This is sooo god d**n exciting!
:wiggle:

(off topic: I'm writing this post on our backyard patio and the duck/goose hunting season has just started...It breaks my heart to hear the frequent gun shots. One just made me jump! Moses ran to the fence to see what the heck is happening.
I have tried to encourage the poor birds to come to our shoreline and seek cover. Hunting just is not for me... )

Exciting!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck!!!!!

I would hate to hear the gun shots as well. I grew up in a small town and hunting is very popular there. I am a carnivore and that will never change but I could not bring myself to hunt. It's just not in me. As much as I hate seeing dead animals I do cheer up when they are cooked perfectly and on my plate. Yes, I'm a hypocrite and I'm OK with that. :D

Thanks! I'm sure all that is meant to happen will happen, so if we do not get a puppy from this litter, then it's just not meant for us and the search continues.
Keeping my fingers crossed though! :)

(hah! same here. I just love a good barbecue steak. One time we were sitting in a table with a group of friends and the discussion went to how badly some of the live stock is treated etc...so we ended up eating and crying... like nyyh :( those poor cows...but this stake is excellent...yes, but those cows!...but this is good...
So I'll join you to the hypocrisy club :)

But there is something repulsive in actual hunting that I just cannot bear. I have also been observing those little geese and ducks starting when they nursed their little ones and always came here to feed. I'm just so scared and sorry for them right now.
I actually once forced myself to a duck hunting group and always when someone was ready to make a shot I stod up and made a big noise, no need to say that I was not welcome there anymore :) )

I agree! If it's meant to be then you'll have a puppy. Hopefully it's meant to be!!

hahaha! The ONE time I was invited out with my dad and his buddies to go hunting when I was a kid I would yell at the deer 'Run! Run away from here! They want to kill you!'. That was my last hunting trip. :D Although I will fish and love fishing but I can't clean a fish any more like I used to as a kid. Too icky now. :)

I'm OK with hunting as long as you follow the rules and hunt ethically. NO killing moms with babies, NO killing babies, etc. Just as long as I don't have to see the dead body or see it being butchered for food. I can't even handle watching nature shows when one animal kills another. I'm a wimp. But I also LOVE meat. :)

We have similar hunting rules here as well, but there are so many trigger-happy guys attending and nobody really following wether the rules are respected...such as last season I heard gun shots even during when it was pitch-black outside! like how can they even know what they are shooting. I'm so sure that the same will repeat this year as well.
Late night boozing and shooting just doesn't mix. oh the joy of the small towns...

Congratulations and good luck. You might suggest to the breeder that you'd like to pay a deposit on first pick male from her next litter!

How exciting! Moses would love a little brother I bet.

Aw! Actually contacting a breeder makes it so real. Like when I was browsing and found two puppies and my hubs actually called? I about flew over the moon!

The deposit offer is a great tip. Although she told me that she is not taking any official reservation and nor is yet advertising that there might be a litter coming soon.
I will give this a rest for a while and contact her again to ask if the male visit was a success and then ask about the deposit possibility.

Does any of you know how much time it takes after a male visit to know if it was a success? I don't want to look like an idiot and call them too soon :)

Oh, he would be jumping for joy to have a play mate! He is so social and friendly towards all animals and humans that it's hard for me to foresee any issues...but then again, who knows. When time comes I have to read really closely all posts here for introductions :)

Yup, the actual contact made this so real and now we are officially looking for one! I have thought that there will eventually be two, but now it's happening for real! :) YAY!
Cannot even imagine how I feel when we have a set date for the arrival when I'm jumping around already for only the idea of getting a second! :w00t:

Wait til you're on the drive there & get there & see your baby!

I swear it's so different than the first frenchie. It's like HOLY MOSES IM GETTING A SECOND FRENCH BULLDOG?! ME?! IS THIS REAL?

Little frenchie babies are just so darn cute too!

OMG OMG OMG!!! We just got a message from Moses's breeder letting us know that Mo's mom is having babies this coming FRIDAY!
We did ask them a long time ago that if they could let us know if they are planning another litter, but at that time they did not have puppy plans.

This certainly was an interesting and highly exciting twist... so confused, don't know what to think right now :faint:

Do it! It's a sign you were meant to at least go visit the babies & see if one chooses you!

Awww how exciting. Maybe it's meant to be!!!! Good luck!

So exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have to wait until December until our breeder in Detroit has more! I CANNOT WAIT!

We are just waiting pics of the dad and of course more pics on Friday of the puppies. Now all we can do is to hope that all goes well.
If things looks good, then we might start thinking of ordering flights to UK :)

This sure came up strangely just when we had made the decision to get another! Like it is meant to be! I'm trying to stay calm, since anything can happen...but it is darn difficult :)
