Puppy hacking up Bile every day

Your puppy still hacking up? My dog will sometimes throw up in the middle of night from swallowing pieces of toys I wasn't fast enough to take away after she destroyed them :)

I am happy to hear that Dolly didn't hack up anything! Sounds like it was an easy fix! Milo is still doing it :-(. I switched vets to a MUCH better one. He said based off of when Milo has these reactions (after laying down and sleeping and then getting up, after getting excited and running) that he wants to be sure it's not the sphincter esophagus not being able to open causing him to throw up. So we are trying Prilosec for 10 days to see if that helps. It's almost been a week on that so far and I haven't noticed much of a change yet. I found this article that is fascinating to me. Diagnosing Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) in Pets
When Milo was born, he had a hernia on his stomach which the breeder got removed, and they talk about how that could possibly relate to what is happening with him. It could be related. I have come to terms that figuring this out may be a long process. He is doing fine other than this. So I have a feeling we will be doing some more extensive testing at the vet.

OH, he is eating The Honest Kitchen food and pooping 3 times more a day than before he was on it, he has more gas, and his poop looks like the food. Soooo not sure if the food is settling well with him still :-(

So sorry to hear you're still having problems. I hope your dog doesn't have a recurrence of his hernia. Hopefully your dog will gradually get used to the new food as well. My dog hasn't been throwing up since I increased her diet to the 1 cup twice daily, but I've been having massive problems with her fighting with my other dog lately. When they fight I pick up one dog and somehow the other dog is still hanging from the face of the other dog for a minute since they're locked on :( Never a dull moment.

My new puppy also throws up frequently. I have tried several foods, an x ray, meds... still looking for answers too

Sorry to hear about your puppy too! What I keep hearing, is some of this is normal for the breed as far as the hacking. How is your puppy doing now? Did you do anything for it? It's getting worse with Milo. He now is throwing up during the night and still hacking up mucus as well. I've been feeding him right before bed as well so he doesn't go to sleep on an empty stomach. Anytime he gets up from resting, relaxing, goes down the stairs, the pure movement makes him hack mucus. He got x-rays and there may be some bronchitis today so vet put him on doxycycline. He's having trouble breathing, runny and stuffy nose (which I assume is allergies). We got more rain than normal in California this year and it's been a hot spring, so it has heightened allergies for everyone including humans. It's like never ending. I don't know about you other frenchie owners, but this is so stressful. I feel so bad for him and can't believe this has been going on for so long! I am feeling like I just keep hitting a wall.

So sorry to hear that Milo's not getting better. Make sure you give him probiotics while he's on the doxycycline and for a week after. Doxycycline may cause permanent teeth discoloration in puppies under 6 months old- did your vet mention that? Also, doxycycline is better if given in liquid form for dogs since it is very acidic and can cause an ulcer if it gets stuck on the way down.
Which food are you using now? Are you using an elevated bowl just in case that helps? Are you giving a H2 antagonist like ranitidine or famotidine to prevent esophagitis from all the regurgitation?
