Royal Canin Junior vs Welness Core puppy

Hello my frenchie is 12 weeks old i had him on Royal Canin French bulldog junior. After reading reviews on dogfoodadvisor i decided to change to wellness core puppy. I introduced the food by mixing half half yesterday. He had more poo the usual and today after eating he been sick. Should I discontinue the wellness core and just stick to royal?

Royal Canin is not a good food so that is great you are wanting to do a switch. When changing dog food, it is recommended to do a slow transition. So for 3-4 days you would do 75% old with 25% new, then the next 3-4 days, do 50/50 and then the last 3-4 days do 75% new and 25% old and then after that it would be 100% new.

Yes, as [MENTION=188]Cbrugs[/MENTION] has said you need to transition slowly. 50/50 the first day is too much of the new food for his digestive tract.

Agree with all above, but if he continues to vomit a couple more days during the switch over, I would give up on Wellness core, and try Fromm Grain Free Heartland or Orijen puppy, again introducing very slowly.

I live in uk so cant find any supply of fromm grain free... i tought that welness core puppy will be ok... which other ones you would recommend?

You can get Orijen Puppy in Scotland. It's a great food for puppies. Try Wizard of Paws if you are in Glasgow?

You can probably find Orijen puppy in Edinburgh as well. Just go onto the Orijen site and they will tell you what stores carry their brand. Orijen Puppy is smaller kibble made for puppies. As for transitioning, just do it slowly by following the ten day transition method.
