Good Luck to you and Oscar !!! I'm sure it will be a great experience !

Have fun, enjoy, learn and keep us posted - always wondered what that would be like.

Cool, good luck, he has a nice top line.

Good Luck!!! My daughter use to show her Jack Russel for obedience, showmanship and agility classes in 4H.

Thanks! This is my first time since teenage years....and I don't even want to count how far back that is :D

Will certainly post how did it go :D

Thanks! Oscar's front legs have grown a bit, but they are still a little short, so if he is not fully relaxed on the table, he tends to pull the back legs under and lift his butt. We have worked a lot to make him at ease on the table...but it is different at home compared to show where there is a lot going on! :D

That's so cool! Take pics and tell us all about it! My breeder contacted me and told me I should consider showing Banksy! I need to do more research as I know nothing about it or where they have shows in my area.

Can't wait to Hear about Oscars experience! Good luck! He's a great looking boy 😊

Have a great time!! I would be nervous too, but he's a little winner either way!

May I ask what you do to try to make him at ease on the table? I am on the waiting list for a Frenchie and am thinking of showing him, depending how the litter turns out. My last Frenchie never relaxed on the table at all; it was like I was beating him just by setting him on it, regardless of giving treats, pets, and praise! I'd love some tips.

We started by just lifting him on table only for a short period of time, many times per day and loads of praise and treats and then took him down. Once he started to get the drift that table is a good place to be and there he will get treats :) then slowly we started train him to stand more still and allow us to adjust his stance.
He is not yet fully comfortable, but getting better. It is also question of what kind of a day he is having. Some days he is more willing and some days not interested at all. Also he occasionally gets hyper when just waiting for treats, so next we add to table training how to calm down on table :) baby steps...

I appreciate the response. I am going to try a very slow and positive integration of the show table right from the start and see how that goes!

Chiana just have fun with it, and relax, if you are excited or nervous, he will pick up on it and do the same. Once you go to a few shows, he will get used to it.

Thanks David. You are right, it's just after so many years its quite nerve wracking and we don't want to mess it up for Oscar's first appearance :) But we sure will have fun and post how it went....two more days :)
