Hi everyone. My frenchie Marcel is 8 years old- and for the past few months he's been sneezing a lot...
It's the worst when he first wakes up, but continues through out the day. It started last fall- and I thought it may be seasonal allergies but never went away through the winter or spring, now it's the end of summer and he's still sneezing.
we went to the vet about a month ago- he suggested Benadryl for 2 weeks. That did nothing and then we tried a round of anti-biotics (since the mucus is yellowish)- but he's done with the meds and still sneezing.
Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?
thanks in advance!
Marcel's worried mom :fie:

If Benedryl is not working try Claritin... some pets, just like humans can not use one or the other. However, yellow discharge is usually infection, has your bet checked for an upper respitory infection?

Hi and welcome to you and Marcel.
Sounds like a sinus or upper resp. infection to me with the discharge. May need a different antibiotic. Good luck

Definitely sounds like he needs to go back to the Veterinarian. Poor baby. :(

Oh poor puppy....he may need a different antibiotic for sure. I read somewhere that people give their dogs Zyrtec also for seasonal allergy but I would check with your vet to see what is going on first before treating for only an allergy. Please keep us posted and hope he does well[emoji177]

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I'm going to follow up with my vet and will keep you all posted!

I'm glad you are going to revisit the vet, clear breathing is so important!
