Today Tallulah and I completed our first visit as a pet therapy team. We had an hour visit at a nursing home/rehab center where all of the residents we visited ( about 50 or so) were wheelchair bound. I was so proud of Little Miss T! She did great, was a huge hit with the residents ( they loved her pearls, and loved her name :). It was so nice to see the faces of the residents light up when we introduced ourselves, and the highlight of the day, for me anyway, was when one women while holding and petting T starting singing, "How much is that doggie in the window". She was so happy. I am exhausted, T is exhausted, but its a good feeling. My little T, the ugly runt of the litter who I was told by the first vet we visited ( a horrible one!) was unfit for purchase, is helping to brighten the day in the lives of some local senior citizens. She is a special little nugget and I am so glad I didn't listen to that vet and give her back to the breeder!

Tallulah first therapy visit.webp

That is too cool, and a big CONGRATS to both of you. That mean old vet needs to be punched in the throat for saying that about sweet Miss T. She is just precious. Awesome job you two.

Actually, it was a very young vet! She looked like she was about 12! When she walked in the room, I thought she was a vet tech or assistant. She obviously had no idea what she was doing.

anns4boys, your post did me so good. I am so happy for your a T. I can' just imagine the residents at the nursing home. She is absolutely the cutest, sweetest peanut and you trained her well. I'm sure she stunned in her pearls. What a wonderful natured little girl. Congratulations, you have a right to feel so proud! You got the best of the litter - "the last shall be first."

:luv:

CONGRATULATIONS to you both! What a rewarding feeling to put a smile on someone's face. Tallulah was meant to be with you.
