Hello all, I'm new to the site and am hoping for some advice for my 5 month old Frenchie Bailey. She's currently teething and I can tell she's in pain. Her gums are bleeding a little and she's not interested at all in eating which is very unlike her. I'm giving her ice cubes and a bone made to be frozen but if anyone could offer any advice, suggestions or tricks on how to help her with the discomfort I would appreciate it! image.webp

Awww what a cutie! Welcome to you and Bailey.
Not sure what you are feeding her, but if you are feeding kibble maybe you could mash it up and make it a little softer with some water for her. I think chew toys that you can put in the freezer are a good idea or even some low sodium broths diluted with water and frozen in an ice cube tray. You could also freeze some fruit Once the adult teeth start to pop through, she will get some relief. Good luck and hope she feels better soon!

You do have a little cutie. I would also say try to soften up the food, and the frozen chew toys should help.

:welcome3:

agree with the other... add some water to soften the food... you can also take an old dish towel or small wash cloth soak it in water, tie in a knot and freeze it, let her chew on it but ONLY when you can supervise -- the cold will help with the tetthing pain

Thanks for the advice everyone! She doesn't like her frozen chew toys but did eat a little more when I softened her kibble. I'm going to get some veggies/fruit today to try freezing. I think she'll be a fan of that. Hopefully.
