I have a 4 year old male French Bulldog and am thinking of getting him a brother or sister. Does anyone have any advic:unsure:e on whether this would be a good pairing?

What's better than 1 Frenchie? 2 Frenchies! If you are going to get a baby, I wouldn't worry too much. If you are planning to adopt a full grown dog you would want to let them meet in a neutral area and see how they get along. Congratulations!

^^^^ agreed!

I say go for it! I don't know if you plan on another adult or a puppy but most dogs are pretty gentle with a puppy.
And if you go through rescues....those people know their stuff pretty well, just tell them your current frenchies personality and I'm sure they can easily pick a buddy for you. :)

All I can say is that when we brought Olivia AND Wilson home, Gidget hasn't stopped playing since.
Alice Kable does have a very good point. If you are thinking about adopting an older one or a rescue (well, most rescues have pretty specific bios on their dogs) it would be good to see if they get along. mhuinker - how did Molly and Leo get along when you brought Molly home?

Also agree! Congrats. You won't regret it. I love having two.

winginit66 from what I remember, there was a short adjustment period, but they mostly ignored each other for the first few days. However, my situation may be different since they came from the same breeder as adults and lived together before I got them. [emoji3]. They love each other now!

They are like potato chips, you can't have just one! [emoji6]

You shouldn't have too much of an issue, but every dog is different. Congrats and go for it! [emoji3]

Two are always better than one, and usually a male and female will get along better than two of the same sex.

2 dogs are definitely better than 1! Much more work, more vet bills, more food to buy, but most importantly lots more love!!
