Sorry but some people shouldn’t have dogs. Would anyone one of us here put our dog in the overhead compartment? Maybe the attendant thought it was just a carry on and not a pet carrier? Either way, very sad. The only plus side is that hopefully this will make the airlines make it easier to fly with your pets.

There are claims the flight attendant did know there was a dog in the carrier. The owner should have known better than to agree. Would you put a baby in there? No. So why would you think it would be okay to put a dog? This whole story infuriates me.

Made me sick and so sad. That dog was an angel.

same here, im just so mad about this

Another thing that pisses me off is that the passengers allegedly heard this dog barking for 30 minutes and did nothing. He was suffocating and dying in there. How does not one person get up and get that dog out of there!?

The whole thing breaks my heart to the point that I couldn't even read it all. I KNOW that they wouldn't have taken Twiggy and did that to her. I would be sitting in the airport trying to figure something else out other than flying!

This angers me to a place where I really can't put words to it.... my heart hurts so much as to imagining what that poor sweet innocent puppy went through for over 2 hrs .
I know it would never be something I would have agreed to or allowed.

I'd be in jail but my breathing puppy would have been with me

I've seen the on-line petition to fire the flight attendant.

The firing is certainly deserved, but what about the other flight attendants on-board?

Why didn't they act to remove the dog from the bin?

This whole thing is disgusting--there were so many people who could have put a stop to this tragedy before it happened. There is no excuse for that poor baby dying, why didn't the owners, the crew or any of the nearby passengers get the pup out of the overhead bin!!!

Totally agree.

My wife and I can't imagine either one of us allowing the dog to stay in the overhead compartment.

I am with all of you. I would be in cuffs or watching the plane leave before my Fur Babies are put anywhere they don't belong.

Totally agree with everyone. We have been sick about this since we heard about it. I even cried about it. Simply would not have happened if I would have been there. Anyone close by that knew that dog was put up there should have got up and taken it out of there!! Heck, I would have bought it a seat if I had too!

I completely agree with some of these points. The owner of the dog is originally at fault here! I think if the flight attendant knew there was a dog in there then she would not have had the bag put up there! I mean really!? My thought is, if you couldn’t tell there was a dog in the bag, then maybe the dog was being “snuck” on the plane to begin with, which would explain why the owner didn’t fess up to there being a dog in there!! So, in my opinion, the owner seems more at fault here to me! If the flight attendant did KNOW there was a dog in there and still insisted it be put up in the overhead then I would have gathered up my stuff and WALKED OFF that plane!

Why is the owner not being held accountable?
