📰 What's new

Tuesday is the big day.... neuter!

I actually have a question for you all.... so today is the third full day after the neuter. He is literally acting like nothing happened. He is on Carprofen for two more days. His incision looks great....

But.... he's a total lunatic! Definitely because he's been pent up while I put him on low activity bed rest lol. However, it's getting harder and harder to control his energy and I don't blame him! How much activity is too much activity? I feel so bad about limiting his running etc and keeping his walks short, but I don't want him to hurt himself!

This is when a cone comes in handy. The cone should keep him from getting too rowdy. Good luck and be thankful you only have one dog. LOL!

Ahhhh; puppies.

So glad I only get to enjoy them in pictures! :sarcastic:

By day 4 I walked Dexter (on the pavement only) to the end of our road and back three times a day. I kept him on a very short lead and didn't let him near anything. It took about 10 mins each time and was enough to burn off a bit of that energy. And stop me going crazy haha!

I wish! Rico is like a dart the second the door opens! I should Video him lol.

I would say the first 7 days are the most important. I let my dogs go up the stairs after the first day, and I didn't let them play with each other or jump but I did let them run around. After 10 days there's no worries whatsoever about the stitches ripping.

I hear ya. My female got spayed yesterday and today she's acting like nothing happened to her either. I can't even take her outside because she just starts to run like crazy. I just have to make sure that the incision area is kept clean.
