Being a Sci - Fi movie lover, I saw my first frenchie in the movie "Armageddon" in 1998.
As I began to read and learn about the breed I became enamored with them and decided I wanted one.
Simon was my first frenchie, a little big headed brindle boy that was 99 and 44/100 % personality.
His loss years ago was one of the hardest things I've endured in my life.
My love for the breed trickled down to my friends and daughters.
My oldest has a frenchie. A few of our friends learned about them and also got one.
Frenchies are so popular nowadays that they are seen everywhere.
They are in movies, TV shows, magazine ads, and even birthday cards!
(Ask me how I know about the birthday cards ) Last year, they were the sixth most popular AKC registered breed.
We currently have two and I am lobbying with my wife to get a third.
I will always have frenchies!

Ok, what's your story? :)

It was back in 2007 working at a dog daycare... met and fell in love with a cream 2year old boy named Cosmo--- such a clown and bossy cutie, just lived him

I can't remember when I first saw one but I do remember not liking them lol. I had always wanted an English Bulldog. Then about 4 years ago I saw a black masked fawn Frenchie and fell in love. And the search was on and then I got Jax! And a couple months ago I finally got my bulldog as well.

Cute topic! I don't remember when I saw my first frenchie. Had to be on tv or on a greeting card because there aren't any around here. When our previous dog passed, I wanted a smaller lap dog but not tiny. I think that is when I went online and researched them. Of course, I always thought that they were the most adorable creatures but I was happily surprised to learn that they are very affectionate and have great personalities. We adore Bambi. She is so affectionate and sweet.

I don't know the year, but a long time ago and wanted one for many years before we finally got one, then two, then three, then......... :)

My husband and I have had 3 bull terriers and when I lost my male in 2012 I was devastated. It was so hard I thought about never getting another dog, but the house was just too quiet as empty-nesters. The breeder I had gotten my bullies from had started breeding French Bulldogs and we were ready to down size so we got Jake and then 10 months later we got Stella. They have the same sire. I honestly never thought I would get a dog as great as my bully, Boomer, but Jake is by far the best dog we have ever had the pleasure to share our lives with.

It was back in the early 1980s when we were going to dog shows! We ended up getting English Bulldogs; Buster being half French, and such a good dog has sold us on Frenchies!

That's great how your opinion changed about them!
I love the English too. My youngest daughter and son in law have two English bulldogs!
Thanks for your reply. :)

They are wonderfully affectionate. Charlie is snuggled in with me on my recliner as I write this. Our little girl Sofi likes to "sneak up" in bed with us.
Doesn't get much better than that.

They are like potato chips, you can't have just one!
Thanks for sharing! :)

I can relate to the devastation after your loss. Sadly, most of us can.
Unfortunately, that's the price we pay for loving them so much.
Their love is well worth it.

We went to a dog show a few years ago. Friends of ours were showing their Afghan Hounds.
Did see the frenchies there too!! :)

I never thought bull terriers were as nice as they are until I met one - sweetest, goofiest dog ever. Wonderful dogs. To bond with a dog brings such a sweetness to life. They are such a happy focus and wonderful companions.
