It seems he is going to be our 'special' dog.... I don't think I posted that he got into a bag of puppy food several weeks ago and ate and ate and ate and ate...... Ended up at the vet to have xrays and they said they had NEVER seen a stomach that big. Vet in fact said if she didn't know history she would have thought by films alone that she was looking at a 12 yr old dog and a tumor. Ugh. Well, after waddling around like the Hindenburg for a couple of days he was back to normal. We did think about renaming him Templeton briefly (hint... Charlotte's Web).

So, this week he had he neuter surgery scheduled for Wednesday. Tuesday night was typical bulldog action at the house. Wrestlemania followed by Demolition Derby races under the bed. Wednesday morning when I got up he was limping in front. Took him on to the vet for surgery, highlighting to them that he was off in front. They checked him out and didn't note anything. This morning he is 3-legged lame, hardly will put any weight on it. So I am waiting anxiously at work for Mike to call with the vet update. Thank goodness he has a few days off!!!

What a week! Hoping some good luck comes your way! "Like the Hindenburg" lol.

Poor Wilson! It's probably just a sprain but those hurt!! Hang in there. I'm sure you will get news soon. Thank God for help huh? Tom takes my boys to the vet for me sometimes too, but I hate it when I can't be there. Someone has to pay the bills right? Keep us posted! I will be checking the board for updates today. Praying everything will be ok!

Well, it seems nothing is broken. I have a suspicion that when they strapped him to the table for the surgery it aggravated what he had already done. So, in addition to the Tramadol he was sent home with he is on another anti-inflammatory. They also tested him for Lyme's disease, which I thought was a little odd. Negative results - but odd.

Jax strained his shoulder before while playing with an older, bigger Frenchie. It took awhile to fully heal, just try to keep him from jumping and running around too much. I know, I know...almost impossible to do.

So happy all went well with the surgery and his leg seems to be fine... keep him quite for a few days (yeah, right) and he should be just fine.

BTW.... the visual I got on the eating, eating and Hindenburg -- is awesome!! Little stinker

He literally could not move. I went to try and pick him up and he was like a rock... and we all know what happened to the Hindenburg, right? Needless to say, we went out and found some really nice containers on wheels to put the dry food in. We got 3, one cat, one adult dog and one puppy.

Glad his surgery went well and hope his leg gets better soon.

Aww bless him, good to hear the op went well, hope he's bounding around again real soon xxx

Well it is funny reading about Mr. Wilson Piglet after we know he is okay.

Glad the surgery went okay, and he is on the mend!

Smart move on the food containers. I had to do that too. My boys are PIGGIES!!! I swear they would eat till they burst......So glad all went well with the surgery!

He is still limping around... he was prescribed Rymadil (sp?) and is still on that. We are going to give it until Th/Fri and then possibly take him back. We've really been trying to limit his actions to the bare minimums.

How's Wilson doing now, any better? Holy cow I can't believe he are that much food !

mhuinker - He is doing much better (finally). We had to really restrict his outside time to leash only so he wouldn't run around and keep re-stressing it. I think it was a bad muscle pull up in his shoulder. He is still a little off, but much better. Thanks for asking!
