My 11 month old Frenchie - Rooney loves other dogs so much, almost too much. We have to say hi to every dog that passes us on a walk or he literally won't move. When our friends come over with their golden doodle they wrestle for hours. Rooney will take water breaks when prompted (most of the time) but otherwise plays until he drops. Does anyone else have experience with this? And any advice on how to curb his intensity?

Is he getting plenty of exercise and play time? I think all Frenchies want to say hi to every person and every dog they see on a walk. I know Jax does this too and he won't move until the person/dog is gone. I usually send him to daycare once a week so he can play all day and get his energy out. I also recently got another dog so they will play together as well.

We always have 2 dogs so they get plenty of playtime and exercise. I think Frenchies were born to play!

Frenchies were definitely born to play/tussle!!

My 7 yr Frenchie was a rescue from a backyard breeder, and she isn't overly friendly with other dogs. She does ok with male dogs when walking her. I took her to a bulldog event that was leash free and she was the only one who had to be kept on a leash since she was trying to get into fights. Recently I took her to a leash free dog park and she got into a fight with a giant pug. My cousin broke it up and he fell and twisted his ankle :(

get a second dog or lots of walks .... our guy will go for hours with his brother rolling and running around
