Hi everyone.

Henry has become a little bugger for scratching and chewing my door frame - it's only the one in the kitchen and he never does it when we are around.

He doesn't whine when he's left on his own, if I'm honest he doesn't make much noise at all apart from snore.

Does anyone have any home remedies or potions I can make to stop him from chewing it?

Me and my partner are in the process of selling our house and it's not the best thing to look at lol!

( also we have had an incident last week where the Dominos delivery bloke dropped garlic dip on my floor and it exploded leaving grease marks all over my walls - thank god Dominos are paying for the damage. It all happens at once doesn't it)

Sorry I started to ramble there.
If anyone has any suggestions that would be brilliant :)

We are retired so we're here most of the time with the boys. When we'd catch one chewing furniture, etc., we'd say no and redirect the chewing to a nylabone.

I'm having the exactly same problems with my frenchies, being little buggers chewing the skirting boards all around my bathroom door, they will do it mostly when we are away, but also occasionally in front of me. Done tips and remedies on how to stop and how to fix would be really helpful.

Thank you

When Jax was a puppy and would chew on things he shouldn't have been, I would spray Apple Bitter Spray on the area and he would stop. Never had a problem since.

I have just ordered some of this, I hope it works! He only chews in one place and it's were a previous dog had chewed as well.

I'm sure he will snap out of it :)

Thank you.

Me and my partner work but he will eventually be taking Henry to work with him so he should be ok. Just at the minute he is chewing in one place.

Thanks again.

It's funny you should say that because a previous dog chewed in the exact same place so that may have something to do with it.

It's a nightmare with just Henry so I can't imagine having the same problem with more than one dog.

I have ordered some of the bitter Apple spray that was recommended about so fingers crossed it works. I have heard if you spray anything nasty tasting (not harmful) onto the area should turn them away from chewing because of the fowl taste. I haven't tried anything like that though.

Oh my god... I should show you pictures of where my Frenchies have chewed the bottom of our brand new wooden stairs that my husband installed, plus the fancy baseboard he put in. And for whatever reason it's always in the same spot. Why? Lord knows...

They chewed it, he fixed it, they chewed it again, and I told him to just leave it. Leave it until they hopefully grow out of their puppy phase and won't chew it again. I sprayed bitter apple on it, but as soon as it would wear off they'd chew at it again.

Rotten!

Long story short, I have no solution. I'm just hoping it'll resolve itself. LOL

Bitter apple spray worked with our guy when he started to get a taste of furniture and house structures.
Just remember to add it every now and then. It wears off quite fast.
We also washed those specific spots with Stain+odour remover prior adding more bitter apple to get rid of any possible interesting smells on the "work-site" :)
