Dog Park

Quella visited a dog park near our home. It's not the nicest, but I figured I'd see if there weren't that many people/dogs and get her acclimated before I drive 20+ miles roundtrip to a nice park with lights for the evening. She did well for 5 mins visiting the 2 people more than the dogs than she started drooling and had salivacicles for the next 10 mins. After 15 mins total, I could tell she was getting tired (it was 86 outside) and decided to head home.

When we were leaving, I got the below picture. Pardon her bumps... I think she is allergic to strawberries.

Chances idea of baII is to run after the dog stop haIf way then try to pounce on them when they come back saves his energy and Iines up the attack

The first time I took Jax to the dog park he was drooling like crazy. He looked like a St. Bernard. The second time he went, he did much better.

Everyone is having fun at the dog parks! We don't have one close by so I've never taken my dogs. Now that my Pekingese is gone, and seeing that my other dog is blind, I don't see us going unless I get a new baby one day. We do live in the country with a good bit of land so we would normally walk the dogs through trails in the woods. They always liked to play in the little creek on our property. Only downside is how dirty they get LOL.

Quella made it for another 15 minute expedition at the dog park yesterday. She had frothy saliva all over the place which had the humans squirming. I put a towel in the car, so I can wipe her mouth every few moments until she feels more comfortable and stops drooling. I can tell when she gets heated, because she has the below goofy clown face.

We have a beautiful dog park! Artificial grass designed for dogs, lots of hoses and fountains for fresh water. Danté is a regular. He loves socializing with other dogs. Some owners don't appreciate his style of play. He plays rough!! He likes to tug on dogs loose skin and wrestle, "play" growl, and he barks in a "play-bow" to any dog who won't play with him. He then rolls and rolls and rolls until he's tired and gives up. I swear there is a ****-zhu alliance formed against me. But I don't care... He means well. We're really limited with our outdoor activities due to the AZ sun. By mid-October, it'll be in the low eighties, so Q and myself can spend more time outside or travel up North for even cooler temperatures. I'd rather spend time on trails, bodies of water, festivals, etc than the dog park.

I started bringing a towel for Q's foamy drool face; however she'd rather run away from me than let me clean her up.

She's not overly impressed with the park so far. If dogs are running too fast or playing rough, she backs up and scurries off. She also enjoys trotting across the park where no dogs or people are and casually having the space to herself. She seems like a loner, so I'm hoping as she gets more comfortable, she'll play with other dogs.



How cute is her lil white booty? It's so adorable as she trots away from me. :smitten:

She is a cutie, and it's nice to get her out to have some fun, even if it's just running around by herself.

I have not gone back to the dog park since Wally was bit on the head in an unprovoked attack last year. We have a big backyard for him to play with his sister and other doggie friends that come to visit.
