My name is Lina and I've had my baby girl Penny for about 7 weeks now. She's four months next week and is a fawn with black mask and has the sweetest personality. Wanted to join to ask you guys for your recommendations on medication, food, play dates, etc.

Hopefully I'll get to meet some you guys! :D

She's currently eating Blue Buffalo Puppy Chicken Recipe Dry.

The past two days she's breaking out in hot spots. I've gotten her some booties to wear to stop the scratching and it seems to help with it but I know she's still itching. Going to try to wash her beddings in a gentle detergent. We're going to the vet this weekend. Fingers crossed that it's just because of the weather change.

Welcome to you and Penny!

Blue Buffalo has had a few recalls and there are higher quality foods you can feed. Fromm, Acana, Orijen and Zignature are a few.

I've never dealt with hot spots but I think you're supposed to shave the area and keep dry. There are some sprays and stuff you can buy online to treat. Hopefully some other members will chime in.

Welcome to you and Penny. Hope you can find her some relief from the itching.

Beautiful girl! We feed Bambi Acana and she has done very well on it. Good luck.

Welcome! Penny is adorable!

I would also recommend changing her food. I feed my Frenchie and BT Acana and they both do well on it. I feed the fish formula Pacifica as my Boston has a chicken allergy. The fish is great for their coats, although not so great for their fishy breath. :D

seems like everyone is recommending Acana. I'm going to try that this week and hope that's the cause. On a positive note, shes's getting used to the booties on her feet so the scratching has stopped. But i'm not just trying to get rid of the hot spots, dont want her to be itchy anymore. Thanks for the recommendation!!

Remember to do a slow transition to the new food to avoid an upset stomach.

Welcome to the site and your baby is too cute. Sometimes they are allergic to chicken, so try a food that doesn't have chicken in it. As others ahve said do a slow transition to the new food.

noted! thank you. What bowl do you recommend using? i'm currently using ceramic.

I use stainless steel. Ceramic might me okay but avoid plastic if you can.

Hi and welcome!
Penny is a beautiful little frenchie girl!! Frenchies are the best.
So many wonderful contributors here with great advice.
I will echo what others have said. Many dogs are allergic to chicken.
We feed ours a mix of Taste of the Wild, Freshpet, and green beans.

Lots of good info.
