Hi guys- my frenchie just got bit on her snout at the park. She has a small puncture wound which is bleeding a little bit. I cleaned it with hydrogen peroxide when we got home and put some neosporin on it. Do you have any other recommendations?

I would keep it clean with soap and water. After it dries apply Neosporin. Poor baby. I hope she heals quickly.

Eek! I'm sorry to hear that. I hope it wasn't terribly traumatic for her or you. I'm not particularly knowledgeable about this sort of thing, but I can share that my other dog (not a Frenchie) was bit in the leg at doggie daycare several years ago and since I was really scared, I took him to my vet who told me it was good I brought him in. He cleaned out the wound and drained it (it was a very deep puncture) and put him on antibiotics, went on about how germ-y dog's mouths are and "we wouldn't want it to get infected." Now, I don't know if that is standard for dog bites, if it was because my dog's was particularly deep, or if my vet tends to prescribe antibiotics for everything, but at the time, I went with it and my dog healed up okay and did not get an infection.

Glad you were able to wash it out and treat with Neosporin. Hope it heals quickly!

Here is a picture. The orange stuff is betadine to avoid an infection.

Continue with the peroxide cleaning and i would get a vet check to ensure no infection

Poor honey; looks like she got it pretty. I bet it will be tender for several days but then she will be fine. I am terrified of the dog park. It's too unpredictable for me, plus I am generally hyper nervous about our dogs getting hurt. Good luck.

Yikes, that looks sore. Buster got bit on the leg by a little neighbor dog while we were walking our loop. It cleared up right away. I'd probably schedule a vet visit if it isn't healed up by next week!

I hope she's OK now. Wally got bit bad at our dog park (we don't go anymore) and I was able to keep it clean and didn't need a vet visit.
