Because of the way Oslo walks, his front two center nails on both front feet are completely worn down to the nub. Then they bleed. Not sure what to do about this, as I can't change the way he walks. I keep putting cornstarch on it to stop the bleeding, then put some super glue on them to cover them. And I'm not letting him walk on any concrete. I pick him up to cross the driveway to the grass now. I bought some newborn baby mittens and socks to put on, but he immediately tore them off. So that won't work. Anyone else have this issue? All his other nails are long and fine. Just the center two on both front.

There are nail covers you can buy... I have the same issue with my Bulldog, Lambeau and my groomer suggested i buy those and give it a try

Haven't yet- but plan too

Yeah - same problem here. Dexter has no white length to his nails at all. We have to walk him on the grass, and try and keep off pavements etc as much as possible. He would chase his toys on our patio and his feet would bleed so we've had to stop him.

I just noticed your post, sorry for the late reply. You should buy some quick stop to stop the bleeding and the quick should recede. Once it's done this you shouldn't have that problem anymore. The nail covers are very cute, but like most dogs they chew them off. Good Luck!!!

I may try to plasti dip them. I did super glue before which helped, but plasti dip might work better.

I use cornstarch to stop the bleeding and it works great. The problem is to stop it from occurring again. It's not just the tips that wear down, it's the top of his nails right by his fur. There's no hoping for the quick to recede that much. It's the way he walks. He drags the tops of his feet along the concrete. Grass walks for him only in his future. ;)
