Hey everyone!

I'm Gadi , I'm from Israel and I recently became the father of a french bulldog name Matilda.
I took her at 7 weeks and she is great! shes shameless , eating , drinking and doing her stuff all over :D

Been lurking here for a few days and was 'glad' to see that I'm not the only one facing the biting , housebreaking etc.
The only thing is this , she seems 100% into my shoes , feet and hands and about 40% into her toys - any tips?
Also , its really hard to redirect just because shes 20000000% into what shes currently doing..

:hiya: :welcome3: to FBN !! She is ADORABLE!!

Redirect can be very hard when they are that focused... stay diligent and use treats if you have to.. it can be her kibble, a frozen green bean anything she will gravitate to. But, it is better to give her a toy that she will learn is hers for the chewing.

Best of luck

Welcome! Matilda is beautiful! It is hard to train a puppy, especially a stubborn Frenchie puppy, but hang in there! It'll be worth it in the end. :)

Thanks , I know it's not going to be easy but I see some improvement with every passing day :) she's very affectionate and friendly which is reallllly rewarding!

Welcome to you and Matilda. What a cutie she is.
It's hard when they are teethng, but fortunately it doesn't last long. It's nice she is affectionate and friendly.

:smileywelcome: Gadi and Matilda! Fortunately they grow out of those pesky puppy behaviors fast!

I had to deal with awful biting when billy was a pup. We tried a training lead, it's a very loose lead he wore in the house for a week or so. And when ever he went to bite we would give it a little tug to distract him then show him a toy. With in a couple of weeks he stopped the biting. He still mouths and holds hands but not so nippy. The training lead was only out for those two weeks.

Stick to your training. You will do great xx

Welcome and she is a little doll. Welcome to puppy hood too. :) They do love feet and hands. Just keep redirecting with a toy and when they get too hard headed, it's probably time for a nap. She will out grow this stage, just stay consistent and it will be over before you know it. She was taken kind of early from her mom and litter mates and did not get to learn from them as much, so this also makes some of that worse.

I found that the most successful way to redirect is to buy a variety of toys with different textures and find which one she enjoys the most. For Bisou, she couldn't care less for those wet-and-freeze toys and wasn't as into stuffed animals as our other dog is. It wasn't until I get her one of those toys with crunchy plastic inside that she really started showing an interest in them. She LOVES that noise! Anything that sounds like a water bottle or cellophane would get her attention and distract her. As an adult, she's much more into deer antlers, but learning her preference as a puppy saved our hands many cuts!
