Okay, normally I'm not big on resolutions, but 2016 is going to be my "Year of Technology." It's time. I'm going to upgrade to a smart phone, start texting and sending pics, figure out instagram whatever that is, take my Kindle out of the box (that is a year old now) and read the instructions and actually use it, and maybe get an iPod. I think I am going to take a class, too, on photoshop or one of those things.

You guys?

Sounds like some good goals! It's nice to be in contact in all of those ways with family and friends!

My resolution is really cliche but it's really to get myself into shape. Mentally and physically. I've had a gym membership since October, and I've only used it a few times. And I just eat like garbage. I feed my child great food but I'll eat popcorn instead of my dinner. I need to break bad habits and start new ones!

I don't have high expectations for physical changes, but I want the stamina. So I'm going to start easy and work my way back up. :)

And mentally I just need to de-stress, focus on patience, and just take a chill on the chaos I call my mind.

I thought this is probably the only realistic resolution that I would keep. [emoji6]

I have never been a believer of resolutions. When my life needs change, I take action whether it's March or August, but I do realize that it does help a lot of people have a fresh start and a clean slate or shall we say page one of a blank book with 365 pages that you can write. The one thing I'm implementing this year is 'Do more. Do less.' So that when things come up that need change, I adjust accordingly to better myself and those around me. Here's to making 2016 a year of happiness, blessings, higher education, accomplishing things we never thought possible. Thanks for always being here for us so far!

XoXo from Quella La Roux and her mommy too!

Good idea on technology! I don't live close to any of my family and I find it's a great way to keep in touch.

I don't really do resolutions but my plan for this year is to master Lightroom for learning how to edit pictures properly. I would also like to learn more about photography and taking pics with my DSLR.

Our resolution is to watch our spending.......... so we agreed on once a week we would get take out. And once a month go out for dinner to a restaurant. Other than that we will prep our meals, to stay healthy and save $$

hannah, like your resolution. I have thought about doing a "budget," more to chart expenses and see where my money is going than anything else. We get killed on going out, too. I think I would be shocked to really know what we are spending a month. Every time it's like fifty bucks or more, even for someplace "cheap," especially if you throw drinks in there (I think you said you don't drink - jeepers, that adds up!).

Squishy Walnuts, I will check out Lightroom. I don't even know all the programs out there for photo editing but it is amazing what you can do.

That wasn't me who said that. LOL

It is so expensive. More so for me, its when I buy lunches while I am working. I have done too much of that this past year and that's what I really want to work on!

I would rather pack a lunch, and save the going out for when I am on my own time.

It seems so silly to spend money as you are making it, you know? By spending money on your lunch break at work

Lightroom is a much cheaper option than Photoshop. It's made by the same company but it doesn't do all the extra fancy stuff. I believe it cost under $100, especially in the U.S.

We rarely eat out since my husband is a chef and we can have restaurant style meals at home. We do spend a lot on wine though. I bring my lunch almost every day, better on my waistline as well as my wallet.

I know what you mean. Those lunches and snacks really do add up. I only work part time, but I pack my husband's lunch every day. I always cook plenty of dinner so he has leftovers to take, and buy snacks at the grocery store. We save at least $50 to $60 a week doing that.

In 2014 I kicked smokings arse and in 2015 I kicked cancers arse and in 2016 i plan on kicking most of the body fats arse by eating better and get back into activities i love like volleyball, hiking and walking a lot more especially since i have a dog, walks are going to be a huge staple and positive change. Need to be healthier to do more activities and be part of this world

Congrats on both achievements! Having dogs really does help get the body moving as my dogs love walks. Good luck!

Good for you!!!!! Those are some tough things to kick! I have promised myself to be more active too, but it was before 2016. Unfortunately as we get older, what we did before doesn't work any longer. So now I am wearing my Fit Bit and exercising at least 5 days per week. It's fun to compete with my husband too haha.

I tried a free trial of Lightroom but couldn't really navigate within it. Our continuing ed program is offering a class on Photoshop. I am going to take that just so I can learn something. The two programs are probably similar.

It's made by the same company but Lightroom is not as complex and cheaper, while Photoshop is more for professionals. I'm having fun with it.

Squishy Walnuts, did you purchase Lightroom online? Maybe it's the "free trial" I am having trouble with.

The free trial is the entire program, free, for 30 days.

I was so sad when my 30 days was up!
