Hey guys!
Finley got his nares done on Thursday and yesterday decided to attack his bed and we noticed one of his stitches looks like it may have popped. He's in no pain and there is no new blood but waiting on the vet to open this morning is crazy! Has this happened to anyone else? We obviously dont want to put him under again to fix just a stitch so I'm wondering what the protocol for something like this is!? 20170409_065615.webp20170409_065615.webp

I'm no expert, but I wouldn't be too concerned! How long post op is he? If I recall from our NY frenchie group it's been >5 days right? Should already be closed, they definitely won't re-stitch it (at least I wouldn't think). How many stitches are left? Should have enough strength to still heal... plus the extra tissue is gone already so I don't think it will cause the nare to tighten.

Hey!
It's only been 3 days as of today!
I was thinking they wouldn't restitch either because they would have to put him under again! He's pretty mean about anyone near his face right now too.
Thanks for the reply! Pretty much said everything I was thinking! ❤❤❤

Cheli did the same thing about two or three days... vet was not concerned and it healed up nicely without restitching

I'm so sorry that this happened. We are all nervous frenchie mommies and daddies, so I'm sure you didn't need this added stress. I think we should have Bambi's nares done but I am a nervous wreck about having her put under and also the recovery. I hate the thought of her being uncomfortable. Did Finley wear a cone? Do you notice that his breathing is better or is he still swollen? Good luck!

I would let the vet look at him, but he should be fine.

Hey sorry for the long time to respond!
Fin did wear the cone and we have noticed better breathing at night. His breathing was never too bad except for snoring at night though!
