Quella has 2 free doggy daycare passes at Petsmart. I had the day off, so I dropped her off this morning and unfortunately they were at capacity, so she went in to a boarding kennel for 30 mins. I could've held on to her and hung out in the store until her opening, but figured it was a new experience and some time away from me would be good. I used the 30 mins to find the best hiding spot where I could get some video and pictures without her seeing me. Once she was let in the room, with 16 other dogs, she was overwhelmed. If she had a tail, it would've been held between her legs. She scurried back and forth and once I could tell, she was somewhat calmed down, I headed over to Bed Bath & Beyond to let her have some alone time. When I got back an hour later, I was hiding behind a shelf, so she couldn't see me and I took some pictures. Once I zoomed in, I could see 2 inch droolcicles hanging from each side of her mouth. Being the overbearing, over concerned 1st time FB mommy that I am, I went and asked for her to be released from daycare and if they could wipe the drool before they brought her to me. Now, I completely understand her drooling, being a new situation and overwhelming, but what I don't understand if why the employee watching the dogs didn't get off of the wall and wipe her face. Not only do I not want to drool wrapped around her freshly groomed/washed face, but I'm sure other dog owners don't want it strewn across their dogs fur. Am I being too demanding of the daycare facility?

XoXo from Quella La Roux and her mommy too!

Lol she drooled because she was nervous...she would have produced more, regardless :P

My only question is.... with all those dogs there for a long time why can i only see one ball? Are there other things for them to play with that we cant see?

Jax absolutely loves going to daycare and has a blast.

Your baby is a cutie, and didn't look very impressed, but she may get better. We don't take our to daycare, because I don't trust the employees at any of them, because some just don't care that much or watch them very well.

We have an incredible dog hotel/daycare about an hour away. I literally have to drag Hudson out when we leave. He's always been like that, but he's been socialized since I first got him. It might take her a little while to adjust and get comfortable if this is her first time around a lot of dogs!

From a person who usually doe snot like Doggie Daycares...I have to tell you, my daughter works for a doggie daycare and definitely depends on the people running the place. The 1st place she worked at the people were high and didn't care much. Her new place of employment is wonderful and all the employees are a little older, college age and older and seem to have a real love of dogs and the owner is on site daily. I think like anything else if they are run be people who care then it's a great expereince. If not, BEWARE!
