Throwing up?

Radar just started throwing up at 5am. He did it today and Tuesday but everything was normal yesterday. I haven't changed his food outside of adding coconut oil and the output (sorry, it's early) is yellow foam that's really slimey. Should I take out the oil, should I go to the vet? He's not acting any different, same "tude", energy level and appetite. But I am worried for my little guy. Recommendations?

What time did you give him his supper the nights before he threw up?
Yellow foam is usually bile and the cause might be as simple as him having an empty stomach.
If I feed Maple to late in the morning ,or gave her supper too early the night before she will throw up some bile,too.

I don't think the coconut oil is the problem.
I would also wait a little longer before going to the vet. If he still eats,drinks and plays and acts normal,I wouldnt worry to much at all

I've dealt with this with Jax before and I've never had to go to the vet. As long as he is eating, drinking, playing, going to the bathroom as normal, there probably isn't too much to be concerned about at this point and I would wait another day or so. He could just have an upset stomach. If he becomes lethargic or his behavior changes, then call the vet.

Thanks guys. Dinner was 6pm the night before, so maybe a little earlier than normal not too extreme. I will keep an eye on him and the second something changes in his behavior I will be vet bound. I really appreciate the advice and support.

I would stop the oil, and see if that helps.

how is he today?

I didn't get the 5am throw up routine and I didn't give him the oil last night. Because it was every other day I won't breathe easy until tomorrow morning. But I'm hoping it's resolved. Nothing worse than a sick puppy.

He seems to be. I stopped giving him the oil and no more 5 am issues. Which is a shame, his coat was looking good.

How much oil were you giving him at one time? Did you do a slow transition? When I first introduced kefir into Jax's diet at 1 tablespoon he kept throwing up so I stopped the kefir and then slowly started transitioning it back into his diet at 1 teaspoon and he has been fine. He is now at 2 teaspoons. Also, I believe coconut oil is supposed to be introduced slowly building up the amount. Just a thought.

I was only giving 1/2 a teaspoon with his dinner because he is so sensitive about food I didn't want to overwhelm his system. I can try again, but am really tired of cleaning the carpet.
