Hi all,
New here and was looking for a bit of help. We have a nearly 6 month old beautiful Frenchie boy called Data. He’s not our first dog, but our first Frenchie (we lost our Doberman at the beginning of this year, and have a 5 year old Shih Tzu called Chewbacca )
Data is working hard on being a good boy, making progress with his bathroom habits. A bit of a two steps forward one step back situation, which is ok, he’s a baby.
However, the one step back portion involves his intense desire to eat his poop! When he has an ‘accident’ it doesn’t feel like an accident. He looks you in the eye when he does a random pee, which is happening less and less with us picking him up and taking him straight outside. Poop is a different story. On the occasions when he does go inside, it’s like he does it in as much of a hidden secret place so he can eat it.
We’ve tried digestive enzymes, pineapple (which gave him diarrhea) and changed his food 3 times. He now has Canidae Grain-Free Pure Foundations Dry Puppy food.
Our other dogs grew out of it, but Data seems very committed to his occasional poo snack. The longest we went was 5 days without plop consumption.
Aside from keeping eyes on him 24-7 which we mostly do as we both work from home, anyone got any ideas?
Thanks!
Naomi, Paul, Data & Chewie
