I'm curious what everyone's thoughts are.. I have an 8 year old female teacup chihuahua that has never been spayed. She can be very jealous as well. I'm going to be introducing a male frenchie puppy next month. I want this to be a good transition for her. Do you have any advice and also I'm a little concerned with them being opposites sex. Will I be running into issues there with humping etc. Thanks!

Dogs normally welcome and treat puppies well. Once your boy grows older, then you have to pay attention when your chihu is in heat or you will end up with more puppies :)
Make effort in the initial introduction and try to make it as relaxing for both as possible.
Congrats of your new baby-frenchie. Frenchies are awesome! :D

When we've introduced a new puppy family member we always start out with the older dog on a leash. None of our older dogs have been jealous or possessive. You might want to make your initial introductions on neutral ground like a park or schoolyard on a weekend. Good luck and congratulations!

The male frenchie will be fixed as well. Is it natural that he will be humping her though? I really want to avoid that

When first introducing try to take them on a walk together helps with pack mentality. Your oldest should be fine with a baby just reassure that it is not a replacement equal time and loving. Good luck in time it will be the best thing you could do for the both of them - a bit jealous wish Chance had a brother or sister to interact with.
