Hi all, this is more of a share, than a question.

Started my frenchie on a probiotic because the gas had gotten so bad and much more frequent. Going on a week gas free. I am hoping it lasts, but wanted to throw it out there since people just assume its the breed and there isn't any helping it.

The brand we are trying is optagest. Its a powder you sprinkle on their food.

:smileywelcome: to you and Mickie. I've found that a lot of problems with bad gas come from the food they are eating. Thanks for the suggestion of probiotics!

Yep probiotics are good, we give ours some every once in awhile, and they do help.

Thanks for sharing. I agree that it is from the food they are on as well. We are lucky and don't have any issues with that here.

Probiotics are awesome! Great for the intestinal flora & since 70% of the immune system lays in the gut, a healthy gut = healthy immune system = healthy dog :)

What food do you use?

Jake is on Horizon Pulsar Fish and Stella is on Acana Pork and Butternutsquash. The reason they are not eating the same food is that Jake is allergic to Pork and Stella is a super finicky eater and got tired of the Pulsar fish.
Both are grain free and potatoe free. They are both allergic to potatoes which contribute to ear infections.

Thank you! I was looking at moving him to Acana or Origen. We are in the process of relocating, but once we're settled, I think I am going to bite the bullet and switch to raw.
