Our frenchie has pancreatitis attacks couple times yr. and have talk to couple people that said probiotics have help their dogs and was wondering is there a specific brand that's better then ?? And has anyone used this product called Dermapaw for allergies? Claims to bring relief in mins, and has a guarantee ?

Thank you

Some people just use plain yogurt or kefir or you can get a dog specific probiotic.

We tried a probiotic, just a small amount, and it gave Bambi diahhreah (sp?). Same thing with NeVet; tried it once and she had bad diahhreah. We give it to Ginger, our dobie mix, and her system is fine with it. Good luck.

Costco has a good Kirkland Signature greek yoghurt that comes in a 3 pack of 650g containers and is fat free and only ingredients are skim milk and 5 different bacteria. I've seen great reviews on Amazon for Probiotic Miracle and Proviable DC that are meant for dogs, but those are quite expensive, but you may want to try that if your dog gets diarrhea from the yoghurt.

I have just used plain greek yogurt... have you tried that?

I use lactose free plain yogurt for my pups as greek yogurt gave them diarrhea.

Goats milk yogurt is the best for dogs as the goats milk is easier to digest then cows milk. Goats milk is what we and other breeders use to supplement feed pups to help out a bitch with a lot of pups, or one that doesn't produce enough milk to feed her pups. We also will give this probiotic to ours sometimes, especially pups. You can get it at any feed story.

we have had some digestive issues and we use the probiotic forti flora and I just order it online
just type forti flora and different companies have it, its in powder form.
we also give plain greek yogurt and just choose what's cheapest.

I think that the commercial pet probiotics are better than giving yoghurt, although the yoghurt is still helpful. From reviews on Amazon I like Purina Fortiflora, Probiotic Miracle, Pet Ultimates Probiotics, and Proviable DC. I personally am giving Probiotic Miracle to my dog every day, since that one is a little less expensive. I saw one product called Probios Dispersable Powder that is insanely cheap on amazon.com ( 55.00 for 5 pounds ) but am scared to try it. Just curious if anyone has tried the Probios?

Another insanely cheap one is Anigest Digestive supp #5 ( by Animed ) which contains lactobacillus acidophilus and live brewers yeast, and digestive enzymes. This one is only about 38-50 dollars for 10 pounds. It's meant for horses but some people use it for dogs. Has anyone tried that?
