What type of feeding bowls do you use? I have the steel type with the removable rubber ring and I don't care for it. Other bowls that I have tried seem to be too deep and hit his neck. Since these guys have wide mouths, it's been difficult to know what works best. We will be getting another Frenchie so I'm thinking of making a change on the bowls. Any feedback would be appreciated.

We use stainless steel bowls that are fairly shallow and bell out on the sides so they are not easily turned over. Here is a pic of one, even though this is not the brand we have. They come with the rubber bottom, but we take the rubber off. food bowl.jpg

We use granite ware bowls for food and stainless steel for their water.

Stainless steel slow feed bowl and stainless steel water bowl.

Stainless steel bowls in a stand for both.

I have heavy duty ceramic with rubber handles. Isabelle does great with them and I can easily wash them. They're fairly small, but good for her.

I just use a small cereal bowl, ceramic, and wash it after every feeding.

Ditto to David-- and same type of bowl-rinse every evening but wash every third day in hot dishwasher!

We also use stainless for both food and water. Rootbeer's bowl is a little big compared to the amout of food he gets but I purposely got his bowl a little larger so he could get his face in there because like you said he has a short muzzle and wide mouth.

I use this bowl. It's a shallow (2") but wide (6") ceramic dish. We may need to get a bigger one in the future, but for her little 7 month old body it's working for us.

Bisou was having trouble fitting her big head into the stainless steel bowl, so I swapped it out for this one. She also chomps her food so quickly that she'd be belching for 15 minutes after eating, so I tossed a golf ball into the bowl and remove it when she's finished eating. She has to push it around with her nose to get the food underneath, but the dish is wide enough that her face still fits inside - but not enough to gulp her food the way she used to. She's also great at tipping over light stainless bowls (like her water bowl ALL THE TIME) so the ceramic has been working much better in that way as well.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I so appreciate all you French Bulldog lovers for your help!
