Hi guys hoping someone will have some insight for me. All day Banksy has seemed quite upset over something. He won't play.. he still ate his food but something is up. He won't lay down and his eyes are very wide almost like he's seen a ghost. He keeps lifting his head so he's standing straight up and just stares at you. Has anyone else experienced this behavior? It's starting to worry us.

Any shaking? How is he walking .. any change?

He may be in some type of pain... we are going through something with Cheli right now, took him to vet last night and his back is developing arthritis. He will stand, shake and not move then walks very slowly. Got him meds and a laser treatment last night and this morning he was back to normal, but we are restricting stairs and jumping for the next few days. He most likely will be getting laser treatments for a few months or maybe longer.

Can he be sick? Maybe a little virus or something? Has anything changed at home that could have gotten him upset?
2bullymama - so sorry to hear about Cheli...hope all goes well. Jax always runs up the stairs and there is no stopping him. It always worries me that there will be something wrong later on down the road.

Wow, this is tough. Have you added anything new to the house like furniture, a ladder to take ornaments off the tree, a heater, etc? It takes Buster a while to accept new things.

He was trembling a bit yesterday. He was almost acting like he was afraid or did something wrong. Nothings changed really. We went out and came home late the night before could he have just been mad? Seems weird for it to last all day though. This morning he seems better but still reluctant and not fully himself

I am thinking it is more of a medical problem and not an emotional one. Minimize his physical activity in case it is a spinal issue and keep a close eye on him. Poor guy- I hope it's nothing.

Poor Bansky:( Trembling is a sign of distress or pain. Does he jump off of furniture or the bed? He may have hurt himself. I would watch him carefully and try to limit his activity. If he doesn't improve I would take him to the vet.

Sorry to hear about Cheli. Hope he gets some relief from the laser treatments.

Definitely sounds like pain... I'd limit activity and get in to see vet for an evaluation

Thanks for the advice. He is doing better today but I will follow your instructions and if it doesn't keep improving we will go to the vet. And sorry to hear about Cheli! Hope the treatment fixes him up

Thanks again everyone

Oh no...poor guy. It sounds like it could have been something neurological with the staring, shaking, etc.
Is he acting better?

Poor Banksy!! I'm glad he seems to be OK now. He might have hurt himself by jumping around.

hannah, I'm so sorry to hear about Banksy's episode. Glad he seems better and I hope it doesn't return. 2bullymama, I hope Cheli is okay. These honeys are a terrible worry.

In the spring, we noticed that Bambi was fixating on things on the floor (like my purse, different shoes or packages I had left on the floor) or outside on the patio or grass (like leaves, sticks, etc.). Sometimes she would just stare at them and bark incessantly or other times she would mince around them like she was very scared, or if something moved, she would startle bad and jump six inches. That's how she is pretty much now. John wondered if her vision had changed but she seems to be able to see near and far just fine. She has like a neurosis, I think, but she is still a happy little dog.

I think that is a Frenchie 'thing'. Cheli at times 'zones' out or react to something he never paid attention to before.... but you never know, as you said they are different and need to be fussed on

haha ours do that too sometimes. we quite regularly are asking the question "what are you looking at?!" in our house

Makes me feel better that this seems to be common.

:whew:
