I like your vet's idea of using the equal parts apple cider vinegar with witch hazel, which gives you 2.5% acetic acid. I'm just thinking if the ear is very irritated the acetic acid would sting and I would go with 1 part apple cider vinegar to 3 parts witch hazel, which would give you 1.25 % acetic acid, or just use Zymox otic drops.

Yes, the mix is meant as a preventive to lessen infection and keep ears clean--- i missed a few days and Lambeau is now all gunked up in one ear--- damn allergies
