Advice needed

Well I went to go get some of the Stella and chewy’s patties and came home to see if she would eat and of course she would not. My husband and son just left with her to take her to the animal hospital again because she has had projectile diarrhea and shivering a lot today. I do not want to wait for Friday. She seems very sad and weak. I don’t understand what is going on here. Last night she ended up eating so good and perked up a lot from what she has been. I wake up this morning and she is back to the same symptoms. My puppy can’t be the only one who has gone through this. I miss her bark so much. She doesn’t even make a noise now. Just a little grunt here and there when she is straining to try and poop but there is nothing there to come out. I hope my husband does’t leave that vet hospital without answers. I would have gone with but I am having a really hard time seeing her like this and can’t help her. He is way stronger than I am.

Sending you tons of hugs and positive thoughts..... I pray they find something to help her recover.

Really infuriating right now. Did another Parvo and of course it was negative which is great. Did an x-ray and came back with nothing. Can’t do a US today but could tomorrow for $2-4 thousand dollars! WTF! Or wait until you appointment Friday and get a US for $800! So needless to say they are giving her IV fluid and a shot for nausea and sending us on our way. 4 different vets now and they can’t figure out what the heck is going on. What if I can’t get her to eat and drink! I just want to cry this is just crazy.
From research online and a lot of it, sounds to me like colitis. Have any of your guys French bulldogs have had this issue and what did you feed them to help it go away.

Good LORD! My Banks had colitis, we used Tylan powder to control. Honeys Owners Any suggestions?

Agree with testing feces again at a different vet for eg.
There's quite a few parasites that can cause this:
Helminths: ascarids, hookworms, whipworms, Strongyloides
Others: cestodes, trematodes, Trichinella
Protozoa: coccidia (Cystoisospora), Cryptosporidium, Giardia lambl
Others: Pentatrichomonas, Entamoeba, Balantidium, rickettsial organisms
Salmon poisoning disease

Viral:
parvoviruses, coronaviruses, rotaviruses, canine distemper

Bacterial:
Salmonella, Campylobacter, Yersinia enterocolitica, Bacillus pilliformus, Eschericia Coli, Clostridium species.

Could also be swallowing of foreign body eg. sock, could be twisting of bowel.

Maybe vet should prescribe empirically metronidazole plus fenbendazole or the tylosin powder for colitis as 2bullymama suggested if further testing doesn't reveal anything,

I so sympathize with what you are going through. I didn't experience this with my Frenchie, but did have a similar issue with a female Pug I previously owned. She had non-stop diarrhea. She was only about 2 1/2 lbs when I got her at eight weeks and she was down half a pound two weeks later. All her tests were negative. An anti-diarrheal would stop the symptoms but they would come right back as soon as she came off it. I started thinking we were going to lose her. The solution for her was the medication Panacur. Some parasites don't show up in testing. This absolutely cured her. I also recall a post on this site about a pup who wouldn't eat and was having gastrointestinal issues, dropping weight, etc and it turned out to be a food allergy. Changing the food resolved it. I know it probably feels very scary right about now, but I would ask your vet about Panacur and consider changing the food, especially changing the type of protein and going with a high quality brand as others have suggested. I use a raw product -- Answer's Detailed Beef Formula. I so hope your pup feels better soon.

She is still the same. She won’t eat or drink on her own. I put water with pedialyte and she will drink. I put her food in a syringe and feed her a little bit every 2 hours. I tried to see if she would eat the Stella and chewy patties, primal nuggets, and the honest kitchen but won’t eat any of it. But guess what she did eat! 9 lives canned food! It was by accident of course because my son fed the cat in the garage and left the food. I took Chloe out there and didn’t see the can. She was tearing it up until I took it. So I look at the can and see what flavor it was and it was tuna. So I was researching online for the best seafood puppy food. It looked like the honest kitchen had a white fish. So I get up this morning and drive an 2 hours to the pet supply to get this food. Get home and try to give it to her and of course she wants nothing to do with it. So it is safe to say I am sticking with hills urgent care a/d for now until she gets better.
Anyway, her butt is constantly dripping liquid. Not a lot just a little. She has’t had a bm since Saturday. I don’t know if that is a good thing or bad. I have been doing warm compresses on her but because it is red around the anus from all the diarrhea. Hopefully Friday we will get this situated because it is exhausting and stressful for all of us.

Thank you guys for thinking of us and all the advice. If you guys come up with anything else I am up to try anything!

Try scrambled eggs and maybe sardines in water... it is all protein. Ask about the Panacur that GraciesMom suggested when you go on Friday.

Please keep us posted

Tried scrambled eggs didn’t work. I then tried hard boiled and she smelled it and dry heaved. I just ordered panacur from chewy.

Maybe try giving her some broth to keep her hydrated.

Sorry to hear your ordeal is still going on !!! Put some zinc oxide cream eg. Zincofax on the red anus area.

Oh wow. I am sorry the raw patties didn't work. I am keeping up with this thread and am hopeful to hear that you have some good news to share soon.

I think if she was feeling good she probably would eat them. My other fur babies love them! So they won’t go to waste. I will be satisfied with a diagnoses so she can get treated properly. I just can’t understand why any vet would let Chloe walk out the way she is. I can see maybe the first 2 times but not the other 5 times. Especially when I took her to the er. This is the first time I have ever had to utilize the ER for my fur babies and I sure hope they are not all like the ones I have experienced.
Anyway sorry about the rant just very frustrated. A whole lot of money spent and my baby is still sick. On a better note, I took off work this week so that I can have her on a feeding schedule to hopefully get her strength up. She is perking up a bit. It doesn’t last long. At the beginning before she was as sick she would play with my English bulldog Tucker all the time. I sure hope she will get back to that again. Hopefully I will get some answers Friday.

I ordered the panacur through chewy today. She has been dewormed 3 times plus had all the tests for parasites come back negative. But I guess using the panacur can’t hurt right?
As far as food allergies go it is entirely possible because she has been on chicken since the day I brought her home. When I got her she was on pro plan focus puppy chicken and brown rice. Then the diarrhea kept getting worse so the vet said bland diet so I fed her boiled chicken and rice. Now the vet has changed it to the hills urgent care a/d chicken . I did try fish from the honest kitchen today and she hated it. The only thing close that I can get her to eat with a syringe is the hills. Thoughts?

Try ground beef or turkey with egg noodles. I had a bully allergic to chicken and rice both... had to use turkey with egg noodles

She has been licking her but a lot, wouldn’t That be bad if she licks the cream.

Yes, I wouldnt put zinc oxide cream on there if she can reach there since it can be poisonous to dogs. Coconut oil should be safe, but not sure if that would encourage more licking. Musher's Secret for paws would be safe but haven't heard of it being used there, since it's meant for paws.

If the bland diet doesn't work, and the panacur doesn't work, then speak to vet about the tylosin.
